NEW...DOLPHIN/SWAN..."questions and answers"...tips and hints!

Mouseteacher, I agree that DF's post from inside the magic were GREAT! I can't wait to read them this summer too!

Disbug, I just want to tell you that you CAN get club level and NOT be on CL floor. Many have sucessfully stayed off of CL floor and had CL privs. You may get that balcony afterall if you look into this! If you go to www.starwood.com there is a place to email the Swan with request. I have had better luck emailing request than phoning! DS is at the Dolphin right now and has CL corner king room, east wing. When I called i was told there was no availablity on the east wing. I sent an email and they gave him the east wing. Please give it a try. Then you can check your reservation for changes on the starwood site. Good luck!

Happy Mother's Day to all Mom's!

Anyone back yet from staying at the SWAN who used hotwire to book? If so, what kind of room did you get? And could you upgrade? thanks

Just wondering if anyone has used the concierge service to book priority seatings? We have a schedule problem with a character breakfast and rather than trying to fix it with 4 days to go til our trip I was wondering if I should just wait until we get ther on Thurs?

Help is appreciated

Sherry 8253~I would also like to know how the hotwire guests are being treated. I had the nurses rate but switched to hotwire to save $100/nt as we need 2 rooms for the 6 of us. I called to request connecting rooms if possible as we have 4 kids and 2 adults and was treated pretty poorly. I was reminded that since I was an internet client that I would have to take what I got. As we are staying 12 nights in our 2 rooms it would be difficult to not be connecting. I knew this when I booked but have heard so many GREAT things about the resort ...hopefully when we check in we can explain and hope for connecting rooms  . We don't need an upgrade...we'll just be happy to be there but connecting rooms would DEEFINITELY be a PLUS :)

Hope all of you have a wonderful day! Thanks to ALL OF YOU for the Happy Wishes and sentiments. Enjoy. ;)

Aw Shucks......She loves us - did you see the tag on the roses? :o

I'm sitting here - not buying a paper......Don't want to see any Disney adds 4 for 7 in the paper.......Don't want to get tempted......I'll save my money for next year......I keep repeating this to myself.......

My mom's day present was a set of Gel slippers from Bath & Body Works - JUST WHAT I WANTED! I'm wearing them as I type - softening those tootsies!

Happy mom's day to you all!

Hi Onceuponadream - I called right after I booked using hotwire because I have asthma and asked to please have a nonsmoking room. The woman I spoke to at the Swan was very nice. She said that she would make certain that it was noted on my reservations. I don't think she treated me differently than she would have treated someone who had booked directly with the hotel.
I read in one of the Disney books that there are really no bad views at the Swan but just wondered if I was willing to pay more iat checkin f I could upgrade if there would be something available. We are paying less for the Swan than we would for a moderate with our AP's so I guess I will be happy with whatever I get .
I hope you get connecting rooms. Did she say that she would note your request? When I called they gave me a confirmation number that was different than the hotwire number. I would also send an email request from their website and make the request with your confirmation number.
Hope you and your family have a great trip!

onceupndream ~ call back and get another CM - the one you got must have been having a cranky day. She/he should have at least noted it on your reservation.

DF ~ Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww :) :)

...our flatware (which matches our "everyday" Faltzgraff) is getting kinda shabby looking, so I really wanted a new flatware service (a GOOD one;) ) for Mother's Day. Well, my hunny went out last night in search of the "perfect fork". Sure enough, first thing this morning, my three DS's, handed me two fairly heavy wrapped boxes. Well, lo and behold, I opened the first gift to find a beautiful Oneida 20-pc set of flatware. I proceeded to unwrap the second one, when I immediately noticed something quite amiss. My DH, bless his heart, purchased TWO DIFFERENT styles of flatware!!:teeth: So, right after I get out of school, I will have to make a stop at the mall to exchange one of them.....

Hope that you all had a wonderful Mother's Day - hope to get on to the board more this week - waiting to see if SWA will offer their "Friends Fly Free" deal so that we can get back to the Dolphin in the fall. Caroline:)

...HOW MUCH DO I OWE YOU??!??!??!  Stooo-pid me never sent your check...sorry:rolleyes: . (BTW ~ Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day; Lord knows you certainly deserve it!:teeth: )

I have a question regarding the teacher/nurse rate at the Swan and Dolphin. Will they give the discount if you are in Nursing school? If anyone knows, please answer. Thanks for all the help I am getting from all these boards.

waiting to see if SWA will offer their "Friends Fly Free" deal

I think I read that this week they are extending the schedule...will they do that AND offer a deal the same week? has anyone confirmed that SWA is actually offering the Friends fly free promotion again? details, I need details, LOL...what fare is the fly free based on, those that have used it before....help! :)

Quick question..I read about 9 pages of this thread and did not see this anywhere.....Is there Valet parking at Dolphin??.....Is it $7?.........Thanks...Unplanned first visit at Dolphin ...leaving in 15 hours...have a lot of questions in my head..;)

Yes, there is valet parking. $7 sounds right... (correct me if I am wrong "O Knowlegeable Ones!"...piper, mouseteacher, DF99, jgates are you out there?) I also believe that it is complimentary for those with a Disabled Tag or Parking Permit (just don't forget to tip those nice valets!)

Yes, disbug et al, there is valet parking and I, too, believe it is $7. I'm not sure about $ b/c we usually don't have a car when we stay at Disney.

The pluto people are CORRECT! It's $10 per day, unlimited use.
The Disney resorts are between $6-7, but the Valet at the Dolphin is astounding...just wait until you pull-up in the car! It's some of the BEST I've experienced. A True TREAT, worth the $$$.

YES...the secret's OUT~~" I LOVE YOU "...ALL of YOU!! (LOL):p

Hope you all enjoyed the weekend. The weather is so beautiful here. The ducks were swimming today, and the Rabbits were chasing each other through the bushes. It was a GLORIOUS day!
Enjoy! ;)

The weather was very nice in Calfornia today, wasn't it. It looks like we had winter in April and early May, and have skipped right on to Summer!

Yes, Valet parking at the Swan & Dolphin is $10 per day. It used to be free/tipped, but they started charging last year, as I recall. We had the valet park the rental on our last trip, with every intention of moving it....but we were having so much fun on vacation that we ended up leaving it there all 4 days. We get a little frivolous on vacation, and had such a great time on Disney transportation!:D
