Olena ~ I'm sure you will enjoy your stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the Dolphin resort during our stay last August. The grotto pool and the location can't be beat. I didn't miss not being in a Disney owned resortsince we were in the heart of the magic.

Try emailing your request about a week before srrival and do ask for a comp upgrade - you might just get CL onto your balcony room.

Welcome to the Resort Board. I often lurk and/or post on the Community Board and have seen you there. We are a terrific bunch of Disney nuts here, too! :)

DeeCeeSW ~ you can't go wrong with either the S/D.

WOW! 98 pages of Swan/Dolphin! It's made me really excited about going AND given me a headache!

Seriously, me & my wife are going to stay at the Swan later this year, and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for good rooms? It's just us 2 adults, and we would love a balcony room.

Please help me, I want to book it real soon, the excitements getting to me!!!!

Hello, DeeCee...The Swan is a lovely choice for your stay. The rooms are renovated, and are not so much smaller than the Dolphin (the beds are larger...Queen size as opposed to full). Also, there is a "Hollywood" style bath in the Swan rooms (extra sink/vanity outside the bath area). I would strongly suggest following the advice of Samsma (Jenny), and join SPG for a possible upgrade to a Balcony. All of the rooms do not ahve balconies, and these are noted as special requests. ;)

Hello, Lenny...all the way from Southend, ESSEX! Wow! What a pleasure to see your post. :) Please, give a bit more detail about your expectations and time-frame. I noted the balcony, yet are you traveling during a holiday? Which rate/discount are you considering? Thanks...the info will help to assist you in planning the BEST possible. TTFN....;)

You'll love the Swan and so will your 2 year old. I have a 1 and 3 yr old DS and they love the hotels. You should be happy.

Nice to hear good reviews of the Swan. I joined SPG yesterday after making my ressies! I suppose I should let Dreams Unlimited know that so they can have my number added on? Looking forward to our trip! Thanks again!

Thanks!

The trips for our tenth wedding anniversary. We fly out on the 29th November and want to stay at the Swan for 8 nights. We then move on to the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal for a week. We want to book using the Entertainment Card, already booked the Royal Pacific using this & got a great rate. I've called the Swan for a quote & they've told me $159 per night for a balcony room. (Is this good?)

But before I booked I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for good rooms. Would like a view of Boardwalk/Epcot, but know that everyone probably wants those! So will be happy with any nice view, preferably nice & high up. Tried to use Unofficial Guide to work out the best rooms but got a bit bogged down with all the detail!!!!

Hope you can help!

I have not been receiving email notices for this board. Anyone else having trouble getting those? They are my link, when I forget to check in!

ozziewags ~I haven't received my e mail notices either. I check that first before coming directly on the Board.

RobMax ~ I took your poll earlier this afternoon.

I was tagged by the tag fairy and didn't understand what had happened - Sorry Tag Fairy :o I didn't comprehend your existence! I deleted my tags. I would love the TF to find me again - I do believe now!

OK.....dumb me.......what is the 'tag fairy'? What are tags and why should they be deleted?

ozziewags

The Tag Fairy has been visiting the different boards & bestowing "tags" to those who believe!

You can read more in this thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=342898

As for e-mail notifications, I've been receiving mine, I'm sorry you & Mouseteacher haven't been receiving yours.

Mouseteacher, I'm sure the Tag Fairy is just trying to come up with something appropriate for you. As you are a very sweet & helpful person I will join you in asking for a special Tag for you.

Oh Tag Fairy, Mouseteacher truly deserves a tag. Please use your pixie dust & brighten her day!

mouseteacher no tag fairy here either:( Now that i finally figured out who/what heshe is. Oh well maybe i'll get a visit soon.

Well i am under the 1 month mark, not worried about flying as of yet but if i listen to the news much longer i may decide to walk to the dolphin. our local new had a segment on cancelling travel plans this evening and how it may be impossible to do depending on your airlines.

(Sob...sob...) I BELIEVE, I TRULY BELIEVE~~!! But, alas...No "TAG" visit for moi. I never even knew there was a "Tag Fairy" until today. I visited the other thread, and read the posts. I always thought the posters devised these QUIPS on their own accord. How "Precious" to discover they are RANDOMLY selected for each individual by a FAIRY! Magic is EVERYWHERE!! ******;)

A relative of the Tag Fairy----(the Desk Fairy)-----visits my classroom frequently. You never know when she will visit, but if she finds your desk neat when she does, she leaves a small token and a note written in a very small colorful font on your desk! My students look forward to her visits.

Maybe I need to leave a note for her to remember me to her relative the next time she visits! It's about time for another visit next week!

Dreamflight99,
I'm sure you'll be tagged soon - - probably when you least expect it to happen! ;)

I have been trying to explain disney marketing strategy to some of our friends here and I am on the way over the edge! :earseek:

I think maybe these people could learn something from Strarwood!

I have a feeling that those of you regulars on this board know more about marketing than most people on this site!

So tell me this my S & D lovers. Why in God's name would the S and D upgrade we SPG members to better rooms when we show up woth a number and a smile once or twice a year? Hummmmmm?

:D Whay that is so simple RobMAx. Of course they know what wonderful people we are and want us to come back again and again.:)

I am a long time lurker and infrequent poster. Boy, do I feel nervous replying to the professor. RobMax, please bear with me while I ramble. I have enjoyed reading several of your post. Very informative and interesting. So far I completly agree with you. Last year my family and I enjoyed 8 days of magic. Because we enjoyed last years vacation, we are taking our DS4 and DS8 back to WDW before the arrival of our TWIN girls in July (What a surprise that ultrasound provided! But thats another story for later.). No business can survive without loyal customers. I feel WDW is making a huge mistake by not offering speacial promotions now to increase visitors and customer loyality. The best way imho is to make the customers feel important, special and wanted. From reading these post i believe Disney is missing a prime opportunity to build customer support. Shortend hours, no AP codes, reduced services and poor CRO customer service will eventually cost Disney. Product is only part of the equation. Convincing the customer your product is worth the cost and that your business is worthy of the customers financial support is critical to any business surviving. Regardless of your business, the customer ultimately decides your fate. OK, I am now ready to step down from my soap box.

Less than 3 weeks until we return to the Swan! Did I mention my DW is having TWIN girls?

Please remember a prayer for our troops and leaders. Hopefully they will return to share the S/D and Disney Magic with the families they had to leave behind. May God provide comfort to the families.

Happy travels to all.
