Iowan...SORRY for the trouble! Wow...Iowa is exempt from the possibility of acquiring the SPG AMEX CARD? I had NO idea. Try calling SPG and explaining this quandary to a supervisor. Ask for a "FREE TRIAL" of one year as a GOLD (upograde). Perhaps they will induldge you, as you obviously have "zero" control over this matter.

WOW...THREE PARTIES and another to go? You are adventurous and astoundingly BRAVE. One is all I can handle! Whew...even that seems to stress me, until it's over and the thank-you cards fill the box. Afterwards, I always wonder "why" I was so nervous and anxious, trying to cover every base? In the end...all that matters is the "company" of good friends and family.

I just spent 10 nights at the Swan (it was my first time to this resort). I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here especially DF99 for all the tips etc.

I stayed on the 4th Floor in a newly refurbished room and the beds were to die for - it was a little rainy and cold for some of the time I was there and I was glad to be able to curl up in my duvet

I had a balcony that looked over the back of the hotel and I had a great view of the Swan's Christmas Tree.

I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful and would definately stay here again

Fantasia Sam! So happy to read you enjoyed the Swan (WOW...ten eves!), and the wonderful HEAVENLY BEDS! I saw some pics of the Swan's Christmas tree...absolutely beautiful. I hope it was everything you dreamed, and more.

Did I read your countdown correctly? Are you RETURNING to WDW in 8 days?!? I'm really envious now...I have to wait another 6 months to go! Have a Merry Christmas and FABULOUS Holiday Season!

hehe...last summer I Stretcchhed that month into 5+ weeks! LOL! My entire "Holiday" was over 7 weeks long...and it appears this summer will be NO different!

STILL...you amaze me. Flying all the way from the UK to the land of MAGIC twice within a month! Whew. What's your flight time? Have you ever visited the Disneyland Paris or Japan? We are EAGER to travel there in the near future. The films, sites and info we gather makes these locales irresistible!

Where (on prop) are you staying for the New Years trip? (If not at the Swan...you're certainly going to miss those heavenly beds! LOL.

I know this probably isn't the best place for this question, but I have posted a similar one on the restaurants board and I haven't gotten any replies.

Are there any good Easter Breakfast/Brunch's at either the Swan or the Dolphin? I would like to do something close to the hotel because I figure it will be swamped that day.

Can't help you with Easter, but I wondered the same thing about Christmas and about a month ago they posted their Christmas activities/buffets, which look very nice. I would bet they will do the same for Easter.

Both the SWAN/DOLPHIN host beautiful Holiday Buffets and Brunch either in the Restaurants or Ballroooms. They use the Ballrooms because these events are SO popular, many "locals" visit to partake in the fun and festivities. As we near Easter, you may contact the Swan/Dolphin guest services, and they be more more than happy to inform you of the numerous dining experiences being offered. Holidays are ALWAYS a wonderful time to visit WDW (of course, to me...EVERY DAY is a HOLIDAY IN WDW! LOL).

When planning PS's for other restaurants, how long does it generally take to get to Magic Kingdom or Contemporary Resort using the Disney Transporatation?

How long does it take to walk to Epcot or Yacht Club?

Hey all,

Finally made it back to the site now that the semester is at a close. Had a great trip and the Dolphin was excellent. Ended up with a 2 BR suite on the ground level. Really perfect with 2 little ones (it was a renovated room as well, which I thought was a Swan only situation - but I was happily wrong).

Now is the time to plan a summer trip. Anyone know if gov't rates are still available?

Coral cafe is a great value and will require PS.

MK and Contemp are hard to say because you have to board a bus that may stop at some of the other Epcot resorts. Maybe 10 minutes maybe 30.

The walk to both parks is easy. I think we actually made it in about 15-20 minutes with a stroller in tow. YC is about half that. You can typically walk to Epcot faster than the boats take - cause they stop at the YC and BW on the way. S&D are the last route stop before MGM - so its a wash going that way.1

I bought 2 rooms and since I am platinum they gave me the adjoining room with the Murphy bed for free.

It was great. Now if I can only get that rate again.

spg.com has an auction up for 3 nights at the dolphin, 2 4 day hopper passes and 2 bkfsts. Currently going for 925, 3 bids so far. its for new years. Any idea when these auctions started, I just stumbled on it this morning

Thanks to your advice I sent an email to SPG explaining that the Amex card is not available to residents of Iowa and that I was planning on using the card to upgrade to gold status and was going to charge EVERYTHING for our trip on this card. I received a reply that I was granted gold status as a goodwill gesture !!! YIPPEE

My DS (7) and DD (3) sent a fax to Dolphin reservations this morning telling them how excited they were to be coming on December 24 and staying for a week and said they wanted to surprise Dad and Mom with a special Christmas present of a complimentary upgrade to club level.

Is this enough, or should I email somebody? If so what is the email address?

I think the magic is beginning . . . . .
