Thanks for the info Muffy. I sure wish that some of the Jr. suites as well as the concierge level rooms would have a balcony I (my whole family) love(s) them last time we could see Iluminations from our balcony and we loved that. I thought that some where I read that some of the Swan studios had balconys but I really can't remember.

We are booked for 8 nights at the Swan staying in an Executive Suite (2 bedrooms). Does anyone know what kind of views to expect? Are any of these suites better than others in terms of view or location or layout? Thanks.

leahgmac.......our Swan club room did not have a balcony and I don't think the other club rooms did either. Not sure about all the jr. suites. I like balconies too, but the view from the 12th floor was great. Our room did not have a closed off vanity area, but a HUGE bathroom. I will post my pictures again at the end of this post. Forgive the messy room!

dahess.....HI.....I have been to Bloomington many, many times and even know where Downs is! We are in Edwardsville, near St. Louis, but lived near Champaign for 18 years, after college at the U of I. You are right......small world.

rolshan........I would love to stay in an executive suite. Don't know anything about the views, but you can request any view, I think. The front of the Swan is the MGM view, and the back is the Epcot view, on the east side. Keep us posted!

Hi, Muffy.....congrats on getting the tag! I am still waiting!

Robmax......I would also like to see some AP rates....hmmm.

poohbear7........I think club level is 1000 points, according to the SPG site. I am amazed at the different answers we get when we call. I think you should call again and be persistent about what the web site says!

Hope this helps some of you!!! We were there Christmas 2002, so room supposedly has been renovated since then. Would love to see it!

LOL ....It's so hard to find actual pictures of the Jr. Suite at the Dolphin! Thanks Robmax for the Swan Studio pics, I like the room, but after seeing the size, I don't think my parents will pay the extra $100 or so per night. But it's a very nice looking room! The reason why I'm looking for Jr. Suite pictures is because so many people say the room looks different than on the website.

ozziewags ~ Love the pictures! I can see myself walking along the path to MGM on a warm morning last August. DSiL, DN and I were skipping and singing Heigh Ho Heigh Ho it's off to MGM we go!

DH, DBro, DN, and DSs were not impressed with our happy antics so early in the morning. But, hey, Disney brings out the child in us and we were happy!!!! :bounce:(fortunately no one else was on the walkway )

Looks like it is getting dangerous for people who question some of the things Disney does. :) I actually had a guy take a shot at the entire field of higher education - we are a dangerous lot.

I better stay away and stay here! Someone found out - pretty easy you just go to my website - that I am an assistant professor and not a full. :) Ya'll need to stop listening to me - I don't have tenure yet!!! LOL

Heck, I won't be a Full professor (Asst -> Associate w/Tenure -> Full) for 10-12 years if ever. :)

People are funny aren't they! :bounce:

anybody else find it amusing, and ironic, that some some appointed expert, purporting to be a college professor of some kind, is throwing a temper tantram because Disney doesn't feel compelled to bow to his want and desires. Pretty much confirms my opinion of the group......grading on the curve, he still comes out with a F;

Pkdcoastrs...Here's two pics of the Junior suite at the Dolphin:

rooms_suites_junior1_lg.jpg
rooms_suites_junior2_lg.jpg

The Junior Suite Features bright, whimsical décor; one bedroom with king size bed; one spacious parlor area with sofa, chairs and tables; murphy bed; mini bar; in-room safe; remote control; color/cable TV; two 2-line telephones with voice mail messaging, plus computer data port; individual climate controls; sensational views; iron/ironing board; full bath in each room; hair dryers and coffee maker.

There are two separate rooms here. It's very roomy, and VERY nice!

Wow, Ozzie...you had some magnificent views from your suite. It sure looks comfy too. ;) Thanks again, for sharing. I'll have to take some pics of the exec. suite this summer, and post them. It is my favorite...and serves the purpose for a lengthy stay away from the home fort. ;) P.S. The Executive Room in a Westin resort property has a FAX machine, Data port, etc., mixing business w/accomodations.

Mousteacher...LOL, I skip too! Even here at home, on an evening walk. Under the dark sky with a luminous moon casting my shadow, I sometimes skip, and sing: "Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!" HeHe...I'm ALWAYS a child, clothed in adult attire (In or OUT of WDW)! LIFE (in general)...brings out the CHILD in me! :p

RobMax...I KNOW the AP rates are COMING...SOON. Some years, the summer rate was not released until the first of APRIL. So...hang-in there and maintain optimism! ;) BTW..."Talk about irrelevant"...what does your "position/Title" have to do with your IQ (or...anything else for that matter)? AFTER all, I do not sign my posts "DOCTOR DREAMFLIGHT"!!! LOL.

Here's a couple of SPECIAL ITEMS (YUMMY) you are able to PRE-ORDER (to be in your room/suite) on the website order form:

*Strawberry Decadence
Beautiful large stemmed strawberries. Dip in your own combination of sour cream, brown sugar and chocolate shavings.

*Your Lucky Day

*Chocolate Dipped Fruit Indulgence

Enjoy!! ;)

RobMax, evidently the past three days of rain have made some of us St. Louisians grumpy:mad:. Personally, I have very much enjoyed your free marketing lessons:). For whatever it is worth I'd give your lesson at least B+. I'll withhold the A until finals.

I think jctwizzer needs to relax a little at the grotto pool with a cool drink and some sun. :D

Well good morning to all. I am hanging in this week and all is going well. Weston is doing great and his mom's surgery went well. Unfortualtely she had to travel to michigan to have it done cuz i'm sure she is very anxious to see her pride and joy. Shes due home monday evening.

Gosh robmax no tenure gee tha'ts too bad, I'll still think of you as the absent minded prof. that you've been tagged. I get tenured after 3 years in public school but even at our state colleges it a difficult appointment and many profs never recieve it.

Good to hear from you Disnurse.......especially that all is going well. Tough week for that family.

I called Starwood they told me it's 1500 points to upgrade I thought someone posted 750 points. I can only do it 5 days before checkin.

What??? I was thinking it was a 1000 points. If 1500, once again I won't have enough points in June. If this is the case, I may just cancel Dolphin and rebook at WL at their code rate.

Nice win - Hilltoppers had to make you nervous. OKC is 20 miles from Norman. It was home court for us. Not sure that is fair!?!

Roll Tide - Ah- keeping to the content - Go Dolphins

Thanks jruj - I sent him an email with my phone number asking him to call me so we could discuss his personal problems. :smooth: BTW - I would rather he stay at the old key west pool or something! ;)

Ya'll will all like this. My first years in the Ph.D. program I was coming from a business position were I really had some top people around me. So ... when I started teaching I expected a lot from the students (and still do). I went through one year where I gave only 3 A's over the course of 5 classes (3 semesters - about 250-300 total students). My division director accused me of having a Jesus Christ complex (no not a God complex) in that "only Jesus Christ deserves an A!" Remember any teachers like that???

Since then I am much more charitable, but after the prof bashing I will happily grab a B+ and run for the hills, I mean S and D. :) :) :)

And while I'm harping on human behavior

Has anyone else noticed that there are some sadistic people on this site. I actually read something this fine morning suggesting you should always pay rack rates or you won't get the better service and will enjoy you stay less. :earseek:

Man do I love and enjoy SPG more each day. That's why I'm staying with them for over 2 months this year! :)

Gee RobMax.......I thought I was reading your thread on the debate board ;) I don't think you were whining........just trying to take the emotion out of the equation by using business/marketing reasoning..........(even though I was experiencing a few unpleasant economics flashbacks.......lol)

FWIW - Mousesavers just listed some new rate cuts for Hotel Royal Plaza. It seems like the Downtown Disney hotels are "getting it".

Disnurse......glad your friend is doing better.

In Disney's non-AP defense, when I was checking on rates a few weeks ago for my sister for Easter Weekend, they offered me/her an upsell rate for Coronado Springs. It was so good, I ended up changing my weekend ressies from the Swan (bad board member
 ) to CSR. I am the type that likes to change resort areas just for the fun of it(we'll be staying 5 days at BCV and will venture to the S/D to eat and look around anyway)

One of my DS's was disappointed but since he would be spending his time with my sister and nephew at CSR anyway, it just made more sense for all of us to be together. However, I redeemed myself by booking there for my return trip in May.

So - it seems that Disney is doing some creative marketing.........just not in the AP area........yet. Now, if S/D made me an offer I couldn't refuse..........lol

Oh and here's my credentials........M.B.A. and current manager of my son's kindergarten "wow store" ! Those kids drive very hard bargains...........always conning me into selling them stuff for less wows, asking me to hold things for the next week and forcing me into giving away the candy that's been there since last Fall at bargain basement pricing of buy one get one free. :D

:D ... Nice post. That may be the toughest MBA job around. I would trust any of our MBAs with that-LOL.... Where did you finish Mary?

I think that many people have jumped for the DVC "time share" idea and now are stuck there. I'm not saying they are unhappy, but it makes them unhappy when people who aren't captive get good deals. Never been a fan of timeshare!!! Different strokes I guess... Let me tell you, noone can beat $129 at the Dolphin for a Jr suite and breakfast and dinner (Club Level) included!!!

OK, The clock is ticking - how long till a DVC member flames me?

Hi Everyone! I've been lurking around for a while, reading but not posting. I should be getting on with a research proposal for my university course (child mental health), but what the heck! Only 3 weeks til we hit Florida!!

I know Dolphin's offering an Easter Bunny basket, but does anyone know what's actually in it? I've e-mailed the Dolphin, but I suspect I'll get a quicker response here! Spring has arrived here in the UK - we've had a week of glorious weather. Most unusual!
