NEW Disney Visa Vacation Package Deal

Does anyone have an email address to send a complaint to? I emailed WDW through the website and am waiting for a reply, but maybe a more specific place would've been better.

I used a customer service link in the online account management site of Bank One to send an e-mail to customer service to ask if the offer would be extended to current card holders. I'll tell you how they respond when I hear back from them.

Who knows. Maybe if enough people with good cc standing contact them, it will make a difference.

I don't see why everyone is getting so mad.

Face it Disney wants you to have their card so that they can make lots of money off of you in interest charges. That is why they are making this great offer to "New" customers... They want to get you, so that they can start collecting those interest charges..

All companies do this. We've had Directv for years and there are constantly deals that apply to NEW subscribers only.. Same with cell phone companies etc. It's the way it goes.

I booked my trip using the visa deal where kids play free.
I got an 8 day ultimate park hopper for two kids (under 10) for free. I feel that is a better deal for me then getting the extra 3 nights paid for.

It costs almost $600.00 for 2 - 8 day childrens UPH ticket where as
getting 3 nights free where were staying is only $ 432.00

Anyway my point is that you have to expect that disney will try to lure new customers in with deals that aren't available to everyone. Sometimes you will benefit from it sometimes you won't.

I am sure they will come up with another deal really soon for existing customers or anyone at all to take advantage of. They always do. :teeth:

That deal was great if you have young children. Alot of us don't anymore. I have 3 teens and could use the discounts. By the way most of the money they make isn't from interest alone. They get a percentage for each charge that is made as well, whether the cardmember pays interest or not.

I understand that.
That's why I wrote it was the best deal for ME.

I agree the new deal is good.

But my point was that companies always do "new customer" deals to lure people in and you have to expect that your not always going to be able to take advantage of everything.

I am sure there will be a new deals out soon. There are always new deals.

Yes, it's true companies do send you offers to join them.

But I hardly believe a $25.00 check from At & T is the same as a 50% off a vacation which could be thousands! I could see an offer of $100.00 at check-in would be equivelent.
if that's the case, I cancel my card and re-apply.

Also, it's not just the room that's free, it's the UPH tickets that are free as well. It's a HUGE savings. I have had no deals since I have had my Disney Visa and I have been a cardholder for almost 2 years now.

I believe the FTP came out early May last year. The new Visa members have till 4/28 (I think) to book this special package. Maybe Disney is going to open it up to all Disney cardholders around the same time as last year, after the new member's expriation date. Anyway, that is what I am telling myself to keep me positive. I thought my card was going to give benefits similar to my Disney Club card. I have been dissappointed so far and if being a card holder doesn't give me some type of benefit for our trip this summer, I will probably go back to using my card that provides frequent flyer awards. The 1% Disney rebate can't compete with my other card(s). Even so, I will continue to keep my Disney Visa as long as there is no annual fee. That said, I do believe something will be coming, we may just have to wait a little longer. And no matter what, our family will be at Disney ithis summer in one of the Concierge's, with or without a discount. Which resort(s) is a whole other story!!!

We also booked 8 days with the kids play free deal. Where we're staying, the savings with an FTP deal would be about $1000. We're going either way, but it would be nice if customer loyalty were rewarded.

kitkatsmom,
The way the package worked last time is that you paid for 4 nights at the hotel plus ultimate park hopper tickets (hotel at rack rate) then you get 3 nights hotel AND ULTIMATE PARK HOPPER TICKETS for free. So I think you would save more than $432 with the fairytale package.

I haven't priced out your stay, obviously, and compared the two Visa deals, but I wanted to let you know that it wasn't just 3 nights free HOTEL stay but that it also includes the tickets.

but I wanted to let you know that it wasn't just 3 nights free HOTEL stay but that it also includes the tickets.

You know I read the paper so quickly when I got it that I didn't realize that it did include the tickets too.

I just pulled it out of the trash.
It still won't work for us though. We are already booked to go in april and to do this deal you have to book your stay between may 1st and October 31st.

I thought about changing my trip to the first week of May but after calling and finding out what it would cost to cancel my airfare and rebook it... It wipes out any savings over the deal I already have.

Definately great for someone else who hasn't booked yet.
Even worth getting the card.

I stayed away from disney's card because I use the toysrus reward credit card. But who know's maybe I will switch someday for the right deal..

I've got to respectfully disagree with any of the posters who have compared Bank One/Disney's tactics to those used by cell phone companies who offer special promotional deals to new subscribers. For one thing, if Cingular is going to offer a $200 phone FREE to new subscribers, it's available to ANYONE interested in opening up a new account - not "exclusive" to people who are "invited", as many people have been told.

And furthermore, yes, this is a horrible way to reward loyal Disney fans. I guess in a business sense, they assume we're dedicated enough to return to WDW without incentive, but I'd be curious to see how true that actually is. I mean, personally, we made an extra trip that would NOT have been taken if not for last year's FTP, and we probably won't be able to make a trip this year without an amazing deal.

Keep crossing those fingers that this opens to everyone. The exclusivity right now makes me feel as if it will. If it doesn't, it may well be the last straw in a string of things that have left me unsatisfied with the card.

Earlier in this thread something was mentioned about an offer that can still be used by 4/28. I do not have this credit card yet, but will definitely get it for a discount. We will be going 5/14-5/21 and will be getting 2 rooms with 2 adults and 2 children in each. Please let me know if there is a link or something to check out for package deals. Thanks for any info!

I've got to agree with Fantasmic303 - this doesn't really compare to the incentives that other companies use to get new customers. All the literature we got on the Disney Visa promised that there would be special deals for the cardholders. I think that gives us a right to expect to be included in specials like the FTP or to be offered something comparable. My DH and I are especially disappointed that having the Disney Visa has not paid off because we are very selective about applying for credit. We have been told that it lowers your credit rating each time you apply for a credit card and that your available credit on the cards you have can be taken into consideration and hurt your chances of getting a bank loan even if those cards have a zero balance. (Maybe some of you in banking can tell me if that is true and, if so, those of you thinking about canceling your card and reaplying might want to reconsider.) Because of this we don't go around applying for alot of credit cards and try to get the best deal when we do. Right now we feel like we wasted an opportunity to get a card with a good rewards program.

But maybe this will turn out like some of the other discounts that were released to one target group at the time until they were available to everybody. We'll keep our fingers crossed. :)

I think that a lot of people are getting worked up about nothing. In the past they have released "Disney Club" packages; only to release the same package to everyone a week or two later. I know that AP rates were out before the current "code" came out. The "kids stay free" sounded like it was only for Disney Visa holders, but it turned out to be for all Visa holders.

I am an original Disney Visa holder. The package won't help me as we are going on our trip in June with my sons band and already have tickets. I would rather a discount on room only, but now realize that the FTP will probably be what they offer this summer.

Before you get angry, wait and see what happens!

crusoe2 - What you heard about holding numerous credit cards is true. Dh and I got a copy of our credit report last year and learned that your FICO score is negatively affected by the number of credit cards that appear. We hold two active cards. What surprised me was that cards we had cancelled long ago still appeared and were counted into the total number of cards. Cancelling a card and reapplying for the sake of taking advantage of a deal could have negative consequences.

I too called Bank one this morning (Sunday 15), In hopes that the offer would be available to all card members with in the next couple of days/weeks. The guy on the phone assured me that this offer WOULD NOT become available to everyone. Lets hope he is wrong! I asked him what made certain people eligable for this deal and others not. He said that bank one got a list of names from Disney of anyone that has ever called Disney asking for information. Then, a mailing was sent to these people offering them this deal for bank one to try to get them to apply for a card. I then told him, that I have called for info several times, but I feel as if I am being penealized (sp) because I applied for my card a month too early! Shame on Bank one!

I received my new Bank one card Tues, of last week. It said nothing about a package. I went ahead and booked my stay through AAA. Well, I called wdw this morning to see if I qualify. My original booking was for Pop Century mid July. 4 days/3 nights. I asked wdw about this package, she took my credit card # and verified it through bank one.....and yes I got the package. Now my stay is July 17-24. You can add on the silver or so.....but I was quoted $1,492.63 with the silver add on, it jumped to $3,165.91.

I would advise calling anyway...you never know.
