NEW Disney Visa Vacation Package Deal

HI EVERYONE,

I JUST CALLED DISNEY, THE LADY SAID IT IS A NEW DEAL AND IT IS FOR ALL DISNEY VISA CARD MEMBERS. IT STARTS FEB 15TH. I WILL BE CALLING THEN.

HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE

DIANE

Hmmm... that's not what they told me when I called Bank One. They said this is ONLY for new cardmembers who apply for the card using the code from the particular applications that include this offer. Where did you call, NTDIANE?

HI,

I CALLED THE 800 DISNEY NUMBER SPOKE TO 2 CM'S ONE KNOW NOTHING AND WASN'T VERY HELPFUL, THE LAST ONE PUT ME ON HOLD AND TOLD ME IT WOULD BE FOR ALL CARD MEMBERS. I ALSO CALLED VISA AND LIKE YOU SHE SAID IT IS ONLY FOR NEW CARD MEMBERS, ON SUNDAY I AM STILL GOING TO CALL DISNEY AND CHECK WITH THEM
MAYBE THIS IS THE NEW DEAL REPLACING THE ONE THAT EXPIRED YESTERDAY, MAYBE THIS IS WISHFUL THINKING. IF ITS FOR ALL I WILL POST AGAIN MONDAY MORNING.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL

DIANE

In anticipation of the possible new 7 for 4 deal, I was trying to crunch some numbers so that I am ready come Sunday. We plan to go Aug. 8 - 15. Please tell me if my thinking is correct. I did not use the Fairytale package last year as we had Annual Passes.

7 night Dreammaker for 2 adults, 1 junior and 1 child
$2,220.40 for Pop Century Standard View
$2,998.40 for Animal Kingdom Lodge Standard View

4 night Dreammaker for 2 adults, 1 junior and 1 child
$1,493.40 for Pop Century Standard View
$1,937.40 for Animal Kingdom Lodge Standard View
$1,691.40 for Carribean Beach Resort $1,691.40 Standard View
$2,337.40 for Beach Club Standard View

So basically I pay for the 4 night Dreammaker, but get the amenities (days) for the 7 night Dreammaker???

When I was pricing things out on my own (no package), here is what I was going to do:

4 day park hopper PLUS from Connections 3X200 + 1X175 = 775
7 nights at Pop Century $93x7 = 651 (but I may be able to get a code for this making it about $450)
So total, approximately would be abot $1425 or with code $1225.

Basically it would be about the same price with the package as doing it myself, but I get 8 days of admission to disney instead of the 4 (plus one water park day). And we could try Disney Quest which we have never done since it costs extra.

Please help me understand this all.

Maggie

the first time I called and inquired about the package for new cardmembers I was told no such package-never heard of it.

Second time I called I was put on hold and told that I need the code on the invitation. I explained that my neighbor had received one not myself (white lie read about on the boards). I was then told that there was nothing he could do it was not come up in the system, so that must mean it is by invitation only. He then told me that if my neighbor was not going to use his I could ask him for it and use it myself.

Does anyone want to share the code? Or shed some light on this issue.

Oh no! This is sounding TOO good! I guess on Sunday (Feb. 15th) it should be on the website. I will have to talk to DH, this just sounds TOO good, but I really was trying to cut back! Now with this Comcast thing, it makes me want to go even more because who knows what Disney will be like in a couple of years (if it becomes Comcast World  ).

Hi myronlynn! I know that everyone just wants to be helpful on these boards, but unfortunately we cannot permit that anyone share codes that are NOT meant for the general public. :(

I may be really wrong on this, but I find it hard to believe that they will only offer this promotion to new Disney Card Subscribers. I think that there would be an uproar from those who have had the card since the beginning (last year this time). Last year the FTM plan was available to ANYONE - not just cardholders, so it would make a lot more sense to me that they would make this available to ANY cardholder, new or not.
Guess we will have to wait to find out for sure.

Maggie, I remember figuring it all out last year and I came to exactly the same conclusion that you did. This package is the ONLY time that I have ever felt that you got MORE than what you paid by getting a package or for getting a UMP rather than a hopper.

If we had not just gone last year...and if we weren't planning a family gathering at the Outer Banks, this would be VERY tempting. :)

where I can get an invitation from just in case it IS only for new card members.....was it mailed to you or is it on a website!@

I was just looking at applying last week and the only thing stopping me (aside from not needing another credit card) was that the "gift" for joining was Lion King lithographs and I was going to wait awhile to see if something else was offered (silly - huh).

Maybe I should just go ahead and apply anyway!

Thanks.

This is soooo exciting!! DF and I did a suprise trip last year b/c of the FTP and the only way we could go agin for our honeymoon this year is if it happens again.

I also agree that this offer has to be for ALL card members. I think saying that it's only for new members is a way to attrack more people.

I for believe this is a very hopeful sign to show that there will be a FTP this year.!!!!! YEAH!

Ok, my hopes aren't riding on this or anything are they?:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :earseek: :earseek: :teeth: :teeth:

I just have to ask. Excuse my ignorance. DH and I were thinking of planning a trip at Thanksgiving. We wanted to see all of the wonderful decorations and we heard that that was a slow time of the year. Will there be bargains such as this during the Thanksgiving period or should we change our plans and go earlier? I like the fact that the tickets are included. They are usually so expensive. If the Thanksgiving trip would cost to omuch, we would not be able to afford to go. We were hoping they would have really good deals since a cm told us it is dead immediately after Thanksgiving. What are your opinions? TIA.

I wouldn't expect something this good during the holidays. But who knows! They did have some great rate for Annual Pass holders at the Disney resorts, but we didn't have an Annual Pass.

Well, this sucks if it's only for BankOne Disney VISA cardholders. :( I can't stand BankOne and so don't carry any of their cards. This is going to shut a lot of people out if you have to have their card to take advantage of FTP. Hope Disney remembers the general public and gives us a great deal also. I'm going in Dec. staying at SoG, but I sure would like to try to squeeze in a summer trip.

darlene9947,
If it's any consolation, the FTP package last year was available to various target markets using different codes. I would not be surprised if the same offer that new cardholders will be getting is repeated for both current cardholders AND the general public with each getting a different code.

I sure hope so, mad4themouse!! I really wish Disney had never gotten rid of their Disney Club program. We used to get that though my husband's employer and that was great!! Oh, well, hopefully they will bring something like that back. I can wish!!

I had heard (I forget where) that the Disney Club was being discontinued because the Disney Visa was taking it's place. That's why I applied for the card when it came out. I wil be very very upset if this deal ends up only being offered to new cardholders.'

SavingsFan, The week right before or right after Thanksgiving are our favorite times to go. We have gotten some kind of discount for those weeks the last 3 years. Just watch these boards and also Mousesavers for new codes and discounts. You will not be sorry that you waited as the weeks in Nov are WONDERFUL. Perfect weather, low crowds, decorations for the holidays, just a great time to be there! Last year we used the FTP, just like the one here, Disney extended the dates right before it expired. Great package at a great price.:D

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you. :bounce: I had my heart set on seeing Disney with Christmas decorations. We saw a travel channel show on it and ever since, I have had my mind set on doing so. I just took a nap and, as I fell asleep, thought I might have to cancel if they do not have any deals during that period!

We have also thought of inviting my mother in law. Her birthday is during that period. We would happily pay for her trip if we could get that kind of a deal. It would be a partial birthday/partial Christmas present.

You have just made my day. Oh boy how I hope they have a deal like this at Thanksgiving. Thanks so much for the reply. You have given me hope!

Well, I certainly hope there are some good deals for AP holders. We decided on two trips this year, so we bought a couple AP's. If this FTP is real, it would only be good for people without AP's. I hope we don't regret buying them. It seemed like such a good deal.

Does this mean that this will be the only promotion for this year. I was waiting for the one about by 1 adult ticket get a child ticket free. Anyone think that they will do this one again?
Thanks

and was told it WILL be available to ALL Disney Visa holders. She wouldn't give me the specifics, just that yes a deal was coming out for WDW and it will be available to all. That if I don't get a flyer, call and they will take care of it.

Now I have to do my math. I was hoping to take a quick trip after Columbus Day for my boys to compete at TKD Nationals, but maybe we'll make it for a week.

Keeping my eyes open!!!

This was our situation last year when the great Fairytale package came out. We were still able to go and get great deals on the rooms with AP discounts.
