I’m struggling to see how this would ever be better than just getting the 10% discount by paying with your card. Unless you’re able to convince the CM to give you the 10% discount AND let you charge it to the room. That's an interesting tip to increase room charges to help hit the $2k resort spend. That works for table service dining. Is there any way to charge to room for quick service dining and/or mobile orders?
It would really depend on where you are eating. The 10% discount is only offered at select sit down dining locations. Not dining at any of those? Better to let the room charge accumulate and see where you land.I’m struggling to see how this would ever be better than just getting the 10% discount by paying with your card. That is an interesting point if the Chase Disney Visa is the only way you can get the dining discount. Some people have Annual Passes or MagicKey, or are DVC blue card and are eligible for a dining discount that way.I’m struggling to see how this would ever be better than just getting the 10% discount by paying with your card. Well its not 10% back on all of it. It's 200 Reward Dollars and the 3% rewards. It will be different for everyone, a lot of it depending on where you eat.You don’t get 10% back on resort spending until you hit $2K. If you charge restaurants directly, they code as dining. Without those extra restaurants & shopping charges, you may not hit the $2K resort spending, sure, you’ll get 10% on them. But you might miss out on 10% for the actual resort room cost. If you add the dining & shopping to your room & pass $2K, you’ll get 10% back on all of it.
If your resort costs more than $2K, yes, charge the Disney Visa directly for the discount.

Yes, that totally works for direct DVC members but not for resale members or non DVC folks who have to actually use the card at time of payment to get the discount.Well my plan is to get the DVC discount on dining, and then charge to my room and get this back.
Just clarifying, did your statement also close in that week timeframe?I renewed my DVC Sorcerers Pass last month and it looked just like that. Took about a week for it to trigger the $100 credit.
I renewed my AP on 2/6, the credit posted on 2/13, and my statement closed on 2/14.Just clarifying, did your statement also close in that week timeframe?
It seems like the $100 ticket credit is posting 48 hours after the statement close with a "ticket" purchase from various DPs.
