New Disney Theme Park reservation system

I really can't imagine Disney taking another 2 weeks to introduce the theme park reservation system. Seems like the next week or so would sound about right but I've been wrong before

I heard they were taking feedback from the training and going from there. Could also be testing (you know it will crash day one).

Booking Dates for Park Reservations
The Disney Park Pass system will be available soon to select Guests. Booking dates vary based on your plans.
  • Beginning June 22, 2020, Disney Resort and other select hotel Guests with valid theme park admission can make reservations.
  • Beginning June 26, 2020, Annual Passholders without a Resort stay can make reservations.
  • Beginning June 28, 2020, existing ticket holders can make reservations.

Park reservations will be available through September 26, 2021, based on your Resort stay and ticket eligibility or ticket eligibility window.
If you booked a vacation package, your ticket eligibility is tied to your package travel dates. To make a park reservation for a different date, be sure to modify your vacation package dates.
If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.

Want to Book a New Vacation?
By June 28, all Guests will be able to purchase new Disney Resort hotel packages and theme park tickets and make their park reservations for arrivals starting in 2021 as our phased reopening continues. Guests will be able to view park reservation availability online prior to purchasing their tickets.
Here are a few important details to know about this new system:
  • You’ll need a My Disney Experience account, as this is where your Walt Disney World Resort plans are stored and managed.
  • You’ll also need a valid theme park ticket or Annual Pass that’s linked to your My Disney Experience account.
  • If you have a Disney Resort hotel reservation, be sure to link it to your My Disney Experience account beforehand, as well.

Once you’ve logged into your My Disney Experience account and linked your ticket, you’ll have access to a calendar of available reservation dates for each theme park. If you have a multi-day ticket, you will be required to make a park reservation for each date of your visit. Families and friends can link their tickets together and look to arrange theme park entries at the same time.
Please note, park reservations are limited in number and subject to availability. Availability can change until the reservation is finalized. At this time, guests will be able to select one park per day; visiting more than one park per day will be temporarily unavailable upon the reopening of the theme parks due to attendance limitations. Guests with existing tickets that include the Park Hopper Option or Park Hopper Plus Option have options available to them for ticket modifications and cancellations, and can visit DisneyWorld.com/Updates for more information. We hope to bring back the ability to visit more than one park per day soon and will continue to offer these add-ons for 2021 ticket purchases.

For Existing Ticket Holders and Annual Passholders: Beginning this week, Disney will reach out to existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders with more information on when they will be able to check availability to make their park reservations. We will open the Disney Park Pass system to these guests in phases, beginning with those with future Disney Resort and other select hotel stays. Later this summer, we will resume sales of 2020 tickets and Disney Resort hotel arrivals, based on availability of park reservations, while we continue to provide guests with existing tickets and Annual Passholders the opportunity to make park reservations for 2020 dates. Does this reference to "Room Only" include DVC members?

I was just going to ask about this, because DVC members don't upgrade to vacation packages. Has Disney released any specific guidance on DVC members?

We have APs, but we have two DVC reservations in 2020 with guests who did not have tickets. It seems like our guests may be in the "later this summer" category for being able to buy tickets. We had MNSSHP tickets for our non-AP guests, but now that is cancelled I guess they have no valid tickets.

We're in a similar situation. The three of us have APs for the first week in August at AKV, but our guest does not have a ticket yet. I wonder where that leaves us as a complete party? Will I be able to reserve us and add him later or do we all get penalized and have to wait so there's no discrepancy in park availability/assignment between all of us? Hmmm...

We want to move our December 2020 booking to August 2021. On June 22, the reservation window opens until September 21, but we won't have our August reservation yet because we won't be inside 11 months yet. Basically, we are going to get the last crack at it.

Another room only DVC member here. We are scheduled for Jambo from 11/16-11/20. We haven’t bought tickets yet because I wasn’t sure if we were going to be going. Our next scheduled trip is pretty much the same dates in November 2021, so if we cancel at least I can hope that this park reservation process may be over by then since Disney is saying that it’s through September 2021

Same issue here. We have a mid-December 2020 DVC Stay at CCV with my parents. We have two Gold APs, but they don't have tickets. I was just about to buy them literally a week before they shut it down. I was nervous to buy tickets elsewhere right after the announcement not knowing if they would be valid. I regret my hesitation now!

I'm trying to quiet the Disney planner in me and just "see what happens". I guess I can see if I can make reservations for the two of us on Monday and go from there.

Personally, and we have a Thanksgiving trip planned, I can't imagine even worrying about Nov yet. I think all bets are off until this thing unfolds for a few weeks. My bet is that it will be completely different by then. I'm just worried about Aug for us for now.

Perhaps I missed it, but does it specify anywhere how far in the future you can make reservations? Like, 60 days out from your reservation? Or starting June 22 can you make a park reservation for anytime between now and sept. 2021 that you have a booked room?

I posted this on the Rumors board, but I'll throw it out here as well. Here's our sad story (I know - plenty of people have them, but here's ours)

The statement about new ticket sales for 2020 not opening until later this summer is brutal.

Our son and his friends had a May trip planned at Copper Creek using our DVC points to celebrate college graduation. They moved it to June after the free dining offer dropped as we (wrongly!) assumed that meant WDW would be open. When it became clear that wasn't happening he moved it to Aug 1-8 but none of his friends could go that late in the summer.

So - rounded up three more guys, added them to the reservation, and removed the original guys. The new guys decided to wait to buy tickets until they knew WDW would actually be open, which at the time seemed like a responsible decision for three recent college grads with limited funds. Of course, as we all know once Disney finally announced the dates they halted ticket sales. So none of them, other than my son, has tickets. All of the original guys on the reservation have long since asked for and received refunds for their tickets so we can't even go the reassign route.

I guess the only thing we can do now is have our son make his reservations ASAP, then wait until Disney decides to reopen 2020 ticket sales. Fortunately, as our son has tickets he should be able to at least check park reservation availability before asking his buddies to fork out the cash for tickets. Though I'm not too hopeful that there will be much left over after literally everyone on the planet with some type of ticket has already booked their park reservations.

I'm pretty ticked off that DVC allowed members to continue to make room reservations after WDW cut off cash reservations last month. And yes, I know that having a DVC room reservation does not guarantee entrance to the parks - so please spare me the reminder. However, after the whole June 1 Free Dining debacle, I couldn't imagine Disney being so obtuse as to allow DVC members to continue to make reservations knowing it would be very difficult if not impossible to actually get into the parks. We are new DVC members, and right now while I'm trying my best to stay positive, I'm not feeling the Disney or DVC love.

From my reading, you won’t be able to book for that guest until ticket sales resume...which means there may not be spots for them to get in

This is exactly what I'm concerned about! We had planned to visit next september, but now I'm wondering if it's even worth it.

Park reservations will be available through September 26, 2021, based on your Resort stay and ticket eligibility or ticket eligibility window.

Glad I'm not going again till after Sept 26, 2021.

What a mess this is becoming. I really thought that on-site guests would have priority access to the parks.

so we have reservations Sept 24-30th at Jambo house and have AP's that had expired and now extended.. the renewal cert are sitting in our MDE. SO YES we have resort ressies ( but at a resort we dont know if will be open?) and YES we have tickets but they need to be renewed.. or maybe the renewal will just take over once the actual ap expires on the new expire date of aug 8th. hahaaa and will we just be able to make Park ressies for the first few days of the trip? we check out sept 30th! I am so so confused!

Why can't you buy tickets on 6/28 and secure your park reservation? You can book your room when inside of the window.

I an hoping that DVC MS will be able to sell tickets to DVC members with reservations on 6/24? They'll have a lot of people in the same boat IMHO.

also, does anyone know what happens if you miss your time slot--can you go at 11:30 if you selected 9am?

Another issue is the whole "Select a time" portion of the reservation. On top of being limited to know park, which is the correct thing to do IMO, we are also being given a time window that we can be in the park?

If we are limited to one resort, we better at least be able to be in the park the entire day. If not, then the price of tickets better reflect the limited amount of access.
