New Disney Race in Sat Oct 27(Night Run) & Minnie Rumor

I don't think 4 times in one year is excessive at all :rolleyes1
Me either. We did quite a few trips in a row awhile back:
Jan '05
Oct '05
Dec '05
Jan '06

Those were all week-long+ trips except for October. That was a last minute 5 day trip. And all from NH! We are nuts... :rotfl2: And honestly by Jan '06 even we were Disneyed-out. Really. Weird, huh?

Chad says we are to sign up for this race as soon as they post it.
I hope & pray he gets a job so we can really go!

Now, to try to come up with something original for a costume that can be worn walking/running...I told Chad I could be a birthday cake. But I have no idea how to do that, and I doubt it's a run-able costume!

All right, you guys are a bad influence. A VERY, VERY bad influence. Krista and I are actually considering doing this race. Two big problems, though.

1. It's the same weekend as MCM, which I really want to run this year (and I just gave Craig a hard time for backing out. :) ). I could always do the Columbus marathon two weeks earlier, though. Hmmmm.....

2. Another trip to WDW this year?? We told ourselves we'd stop doing this "3 or 4 trips a year" thing awhile ago, and we haven't managed to stop doing it yet. :confused3

Bad. Very bad influences. I'm not talking to you guys anymore. ;)

Don't listen to him, no one was a bad influence, we just don't need much of an excuse to go WDW!

I was running today, minding my own business when a song from The Nightmare Before Christmas came on and I thought "how COOL would it be to run in the parks to 'scary' music?" By the way, Stephen's on mousesavers looking for historical AP rates in October. :rotfl2:

I am not here. I am not seeing this thread. Dh did say it sounded cool, but did not go any further. He's thinking I'm losng it. I finally talked him into going once a year (not because he dislikes WDW, but he's afraid of itl osing the magic). However, since I get to go twice this year already, it's only fair to take him again, right? ;)

DOn't think it's gonna' fly, but a girl can dream....

Carrie,

I'm in the same boat. I keep opening this thread each time I see a new post and it's baaaad. I know I shouldn't look but I keep doing it anyways. All this talk about night runs with the park lights on, spooky music and the possiblities that could be for a medal.

Someone mentioned sleeping on the beach, does anyone have a suggestion of an area they don't look for sneaky runners? LOL HEY! Wait! How many tents do they set up for the Minnie 15K? Would they do the same for a 13K? There you go, tents were made for sleeping in LOL

Told DH I'll fly down the day of the race, run, sleep in the airport :rotfl:

*shhh... i just read the post to DH and HE said he wasn't sure he didn't want to do it. did i just hear him right? HE might want to do it? keep your collective fingers crossed LOL*

Diane - You realize it's teh weekend after teh Detroit half, right? That might be the killer for dh. :(

Same weekend as the Grand Rapids Half too LOL

Inaugrual Disney race at night?

Maybe they'll post the details soon, say it's a $500.00 per person entry fee We'll be able to say that's too much moo-la and happily go back to our original weekend plans :lmao:

Robert you evil!!!! I'm not sure to say I love you for the info on the race or scream and pull my hair out while I go crazy waiting for more details! :rotfl:

I think all of you should come...this sounds like the coolest race ever! We can celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, midway training points for 2008 half/full/Goofy, Halloween, etc. I'm envisioning running with DH wearing the bride and groom Mickey ears with a big "10" on them since our tenth anniversary is a few days after the race

Any word/rumors as to time requirements? Think they would give those of us new to this distance stuff until sunrise to finish? ;)

I'd love to come but don't think DH and the kids can come because I'm trying to make them come to the marathon. If there are any other females interested in sharing a room at a value resort for a night or two I'd be interested. PM me please!

Kiena

Don't shoot the messenger! I am so torn as well.

As for time requirements, I am sure it will be the 15 min/mile that all Disney short races(less than 1/2 marathon). You never know:confused3

I so want to go, but with it being the weekend after San Francisco and the Nike Women's Half....oy. My saving grace is that right now airfares look terrible, but if they come down I will definitely be tempted. Especially now that I have the APs...

Kiena, depending on what happens I may be interested. Will let you know... I may be able to rig this so I barely need to take time off from work.

Steve, Krista, Carrie, and everyone I missed...
come to the dark side...
the Tower of Terror dark side...:hmghost: :maleficen

What could be more fun?
Disney at Halloween!
A race at night!
No 2am wake-up call! :thumbsup2

Ok, I might have to start selling Chad's Disney license plate collection on eBay to fund this! ;)
And we may have to slum it of-site...but somehow I'll deal! :rotfl:
(we've already borrowed all of this year's DVC pts. for this past January's race.)

Hey, that's a great idea! Our 7th anniversary is 6 days before the race.

Uh oh! I think I'm getting tempted here. I wonder what the age requirements will be. I have an 11 year old niece who would love to do this. She is quite an athlete and I'm sure she would smoke me! I need to wait to see what the Panthers home schedule looks like. If the are away that weekend I may just be in!

Am I bad? There's a girl at my work in my dept who is talking about going to WDW the end of Oct. There can only be one person out of the office in my dept at a time and since Stephen and I are thinking about doing the race, I would need to be off the same week. I don't want to take the days off yet because I don't know for sure what we are doing, plus I'd have to take days I've already alloted for Christmas week and I don't want to give up those days until I know what we are doing. So I told my co-worker that it's really super hot in Florida in October, especially the end of October and not a great time to go. Is that bad?? :confused3 :confused3 pirate:

Oh Krista. I don't exactly think that's preading the magic, as I've heard that late Ocgtober is one of teh best times to go. I understand completely, though. ;)
