why do we need pete's take? they move smoking sections all the time..

I will miss that tree (and to everyone that smoked if they could see it to smell up the bridge it's your fault). I do like the smoking outside the park entrance now (there is 3 spots if you count that). That will completely change when I want to stop and smoke. I was making mad dashes for the tree when I first got in. I'm more than happy to start outside the park (which you'll quickly wish the tree was back because everyone has to pass it).

True, but this time they didn't move them, they removed them (as in AK). I only asked for Pete's comment because I remember the story of him sitting on the balcony at the Contemporary having a smoke late at night so I felt he could empathize. I figure even if 18% of park visitors smoke, most don't come on these forums.

There's a new one outside the gates so 1 moved and 1 went away.

Even though I started not being able to stand the smell of smoke when my parents stopped, I do hope they keep enough spots for smokers.....as long as they are planned so that they are adequately separated as PP's have mentioned. The stupidest thing about the smoking vs non-smoking of sections in restaurants was that....in order to get to the bathrooms, you had to walk through the smoking section.

Yes, former smoker here (matter of fact, this Sunday, 6/26 will be SEVEN YEARS for me, I can't BELIEVE it!) but I know it was getting harder even back when I used to smoke and still visit WDW, and I still have friends (including my usual "travel buddy") that smoke, that I would like to still have easy access, and feel comfortable about indulging their habit (they are all "considerate smokers", as I was!) to be able to do so.
