New Disney Policy to remove Fastpass if Reservation is cancelled

I think this is a great idea but.......

What happens if you have DVC reservations and you have a wait list?

Or if you change your reservation and get a new number?

Apparently they are building in a 2 day grace period between cancelling the room and the fastpasses, for cases such as wait listing, changing to an AP rate, etc.
