New Disney dining E-mail system

Well I just sent in my requests for Big Thunder Ranch and Breakfast With Minnie & Friends in the same email with specific times. I got a response for Big Thunder Ranch but no response for the breakfast. Seemed like no issue with requesting a specific time.

This is such a good thing. I actually enjoyed calling Disney Dining because I got excited about my trip listening to all the Disney music as I was waiting to speak with someone and combined with small commercials talking about events at the Park, it just made my trip seem that much more real that I am going. It gets me sooo excited. However on the other hand I have had to call Disney Dining back a few time to confirm my reservations, and now I would just be able to print out a the confirmation and call it a day.

You can tell it's still a new system :) Took 3 emails of them sending and then resending the correct confirmation numbers and then they forgot one of my reservations so had to send another one with the two confirmation numbers lol. I printed the email off for sure with all that mix up.

This sounds very handy but I think since I've never used the service before, I want to call them - I'd like to hear the music and even the ads for events! It does sound kind of absurdly exciting!

I called in my reservations a few weeks ago and today sent an email asking for confirmations (I gave them my name and phone number I had reserved under). In 15 minutes, I had a list of my reservations sent to me. I thought it was really fast and a great way to clear up the busy phone lines!

Though I must agree that the music was fabulous :p

I still don't understand why we can't get a real online reservation system. I also would like a system that I could use an App on my iPhone to find the closest restaurant with an available reservation when I am hungry.

At 8:30 tonight I sent the following to the dining email:

I would like to secure a reservation for breakfast at Steakhouse 55 for Sunday, May 20, 2012. I would prefer a late breakfast, perhaps 11:00 or 11:30? The reservation would be for three people, and it would be a celebration of my wife Kathy's birthday.

Thanks.

This was easy, efficient, and I'd do it again. However, I'm not sure I'd use it to request a bunch of reservations for my entire vacation. I think I'd send one email for each one I wanted, so each request would receive their full attention. :thumbsup2
