New Disney Credit Card Reward

Did anyone else get a letter describing the new Disney Card Reward? Basically from July 1, 2004 til June 30, 2005, if we charge more than $650 to our Disney Card in a calendar month, we will get 2% back in Disney Dollars for the charges beyond the $650 and I assume 1% for the $650. This is great for us because we use our card for everything. Just wondering if anyone else got the same offer.

Yes, I got one but I do not have any minimum amount to charge in order to receive double dream reward dollars. There is a thread on the budget board which discusses this issue.

Wow, I didn't get that letter. Seems like a great offer- I will soon be buying wedding things and God knows that will add up.

I love Disney Dollars they are incredible helpful. I used them on my last trip to Disney World and I used it on everything so I was not emptying my pocketbook. I asked everyone to get me Disney Dollars for Christmas/Birthday/Whatever. I saved a lot of money!

Woo Hoo! I just hope that it is open to everyone.

We got a letter too only ours stated we needed to spend more than a $1000 to get the double reward, i guess they are basing it on how much you normally spend. I wish ours was $650 too!

For those that didn't get a letter (I didn't), go to the Disney Visa web site log in, and check the special offers. The double rewards offer was in there)

I got my letter today ....

Double points for spending over $450, for charges in certain categories:

Everyday purchases - Groceries, gas, dining, dry cleaning
Monthly expenses - utilities, cell phone, home improvement
Entertainment - movies, video rentals

And of course, lot's o' fine print on the back ....

Wow! I must not use my card enough! My minimum was $150! My DH didn't get an offer at all...I just had him start using my card now!!! I will have to look online to see if he got the offer as well.

You have to spend it in certain categories, but they were very broad, i.e. groceries, drugstores, dining. I hope things are coded properly and we get proper credit for everything.

I checked out the online web site and found my special offer, but DH didn't get the special offer. Must be only for selected people...

I didn't receive a post card either, but when I check the web site it states double rewards points after $650.00.

My mailer stated I'd start earning 2% after charging $2,300 in a calendar month!

We use our Disney Visa for anything we can and then pay off the balance each month. I knew I used the card alot but, holy moly, $2,300!?!

I got a letter and I only have to spend $250 and I already did that in the last few days so now I get 2% the rest of the year. I think that great!!

Thank you for posting this thread! I looked online and I don't have a minimum amount to spend to get the double dollars. With 2%, the card is much more attractive to use. 1% doesn't really cut it for a non-cash reward.

I didn't get any offer. When we first got out card, we used it for everything- in about 6 months earned 260 dis dollars. Since then I've moved onto a different card with a different perk. The only expense my Dis card gets is my DS's food & gas bill while he's living in Rochester & going to school. I guess they are looking at my total history rather then my recent history.

The only reason this offer made me sad is that I just got back from Disney (before July 1) and I used my Visa on my hotel and some other stuff. I would have reached the $150 I need to spend in no time!

Me too! $2,300!! I sent them an e-mail asking for a reduction in the threshhold---can't hurt to ask, right?

I got mine today too $800.... that seems high too. I will be curious to see if you get it reduced too. I might call if you do

I got mine today and I'm at $250.00...And I thought this was too high.

Out of curiosity, on average how much are you folks charging monthly? I wonder if they're trying to induce those who are charging less? In my case, I average between 2-3,000 per month (always paid in full though). Any thoughts?
