New discounts to be released aug 14th?

A friend of mine just got off the phone with CRO and they told her that even if she switches her rack rate package to the general public discount package tomorrow that she won't save any money because the prices of the park hopper tickets has gone up. And she booked her package a few months ago before the ticket price increase. Does that even make sense to anyone???

Yes, it does. If you leave your package the way it was, you will pay the rate you were quoted when you booked it, which would include the old ticket prices. If, however, you change your reservation, you will pay the current price. You can't mix and match by paying the new (code) rate on the room and old rate on the tickets.

I am thinking of switching from 2 rooms at Pop to the ASMU family suite I have a DV and if I call tomoorrow to ask about the ASMU with the discount to see if it will be cheaper then the 2 rooms they won't cancel my ressie will they? I know that the ticket prices have gone up so I am wondering if it would be even worth it to change at all with a code or even to use the code on my existing ressie since I know any change will having me pay more for tickets. Definatly smart of Disney!

We called last week and there was a pin attached to our name and it saved us 500. Our total with the pin is 2500.74

Are the general public codes that MIGHT go out tomorrow going to be better than a pin or are we good to stick to what we have. I did not even know to ask about pin numbers until last week!!!

Is it something worth my looking into?

The tickets only went up a few bucks per person. The discount should definately trump that increase

From what I understand, you cannot "stack" discounts. It's one or the other.

What I saw was "must buy room AND tickets and it's a discount on the room."

I just emailed my Travel Agent from AAA today, and she's heard nothing about it. I'm hoping someone will post on this thread as soon as it's out tomorrow (???) so that I can call her with the code!

Is this a disney visa code or AP?

It was a visa card pin. However it had to be used by the 10th. I guess I get my info late.

Oh Should I wait up until midnight? I remember getting this last year and saved $400. Would be nice again this year. So is it a good thing to stay yo until midnight?

If a promotion comes out tomorrow, it won't be available at midnight. Your best bet would be to on the computer at 7:00 am or be on the phone with Disney once someone posts the codes.

I was just wondering that too...and then realized that since I'm using a TA, it wouldn't make any difference! SHE'S certainly not going to be at her desk at midnight

Anyway, does anyone know how this code would work since I already have our package booked? Do they run out of offers? I mean, since we already have rooms and tickets, can the code be applied at any time during the promotion to get us our refund? So that if my TA gets on this tomorrow morning that should be ok?
