New Discounts 8-16-10

hey all, im wanting to book a room at POP for the 28th Sep - 12th Oct. would the 20-25% discount count towards these dates at all does anyone know?

thanks :)

Sorry if this has already been addressed but I can't find it....

When are the discounts usually announced? Midnight? Early Morning? ???
Tomorrow is my kids first day of school so I want to make sure I don't miss it.

Thanks everyone! Have a wonderful Sunday!:goodvibes

In my experience, the discounts have been announced in the morning. I've been up calling for a free dining ressie starting at 6:58 am eastern. It became available on their website later that day.

I, too, went to the Disney website this morning to have a look around. The Summer Savings offer that said you had to book by October 2, 2010 gives you an error that says "offer no longer available...choose another offer".

We will be traveling the last week of May/first week of June. From the info that I find here on the Dis, June 4th starts the Summer season. That's the day we check out. I sure hope that we get some kind of discount but I am doubtful they will offer something for May this far in advance.

Well, the FD offer is gone (expired 8/14, I believe). So maybe they will do new discounts, to replace FD?

I can't wait to find out if they will!

I think I would always take a room discount over free dining. I just cannot imagine spending that kind of money on dining - but I know many enjoy it. We try to eat a good breakfast and then eat at a TS between 2 and 4. Then just grab snacks the rest of the day or something back at the hotel. We split some items - hubby and I do anyway - not my boys. Takes too long to eat in my sons' opinions - they would rather be out doing stuff than waiting to eat. Hope you get what you want in these discounts...but I want a nice room discount!!!!:yay:

Thanks for the info. I hope the room % off discount includes the Dec dates that were blacked out (Pop Warner) for those of us who didn't get the FD extension offer.

Anyone know if it's normal for AKL & WL to not be the same offer rate as the other deluxe resorts, kind of odd but I can see it since the rates are cheaper at both.

Fingers crossed. I'll be on the phone at 6:58am to change our ressie.

How fast do these things sell out? I'm a little worried because I'm booked over marathon weekend and would really like a discount but tomorrow is my first day of school so there's no way I could call to change my ressie until later in the day. You all are scaring me!

This is when we are booked, july 30-august 4, we would love free dining as it would save us $643

I sure hope we both get that FD! My dh is a teacher and has to be home by mid-August, so I'm hoping that the end-of-July to early August will NOT be within blackout dates. Since value season starts 8/15 next year, it's hard to say whether they'll kick in a code a week or two before 8/15, but I hope they do. :goodvibes

Does anyone know if the resorts were booked solid or were very crowded during the end of July until about now this year?

I really hope the offers start at "check in" dates. I'm going the week before Easter and some of my dates don't fall into that black out Easter period. I know the $500 gift card offer dates started with the "check in" dates, so I hope it's the case with these new discounts.

We were there 7/21 to 7/28, with regards to the parks, they were crowded, but with fast passes we didn't miss out on anything. I wouldn't bother going to a park for late EMH, I didn't really feel that we got anything out of it, especially Epcot. But then we were there at the beginning of the hours, maybe it got less crowded towards the end of the night? :confused3

My room discount was an AP one at the BWI and I was able to upgrade our standard club level to deluxe club level near the end of June. There are only 10 of those type of rooms available, so I would think that our resort wasn't at capacity, since I was able to change it so close to the trip.

A quick service breakfast, table service lunch, and snacks? The dining plan is perfect for you.

So exciting! We are very flexible with our dates. Originally we planned for some time in April but we can certainly go in March or whenever we can get the best discounts!! Yeah Pixie Dust for everyone....

This waiting is driving me crazy!! I can't believe there is not a rumor out there regarding the dates already too - a more specific rumor anyway......Hoping for late July/early August as well!!

Peak season also includes Feb 17-26; would this likely be considered Spring Break time as well?
I'd be shocked (and very happy) to see free dining offered for this time, though I don't believe it has ever happened. Here's hoping for at least a room only discount :worship:
I know it hasn't happened before, but here is why I have some fragile hope that it will:
1. Easeter has never been this late since the parks opened.
2. I cannot find anywhere in recent history where that week hasn't been peak season. We fully expected to pay peask rates.
3. Disney has never released FD this early, and has never included dates before august in the GP code. I can only ifnd where it was by pin and for Disney Visa and covered value/regular season adtes for Jan and Feb. Thi year the firrt week of March is part of that rate period for the first time.

I guess I will just have to wait and see tomorrw morning at 6:00 am. I imagine we will all be on the phone at 6. A room only discount is definitely better than nothing, but FD would save us a lot. Obviously, Disney it trying to do something different here. I am just hoping that different benefits me. I personally think that this may be in response to all of the folks putting off a trip until at least part of the fantasyland expansion is done. I ahve heard it said several times around here and IRL by soem of my friends at work who usually go every year.
