New Dining Plan for 2009

Someone has probably already posted this but I found this info on the Virgin Holidays website today for UK visitors. Looks as though there will be a new Quick Service type DP for 2009 for which they are charging £18 (around $35). £7 ($13) for children. Normal dining plan still available but they didn't give details of what it includes but charging £25.

Heres what is on Virgin website.

This is available to book for any booking departing from 11 January 2009 onwards.
The new Quick Service Dining Plan is in addition to the current Dining Plan and Deluxe Dining Plan.
Please Note:
These prices include 2 Quick Service meals and 2 snacks per person per day.
1 Refillable Resort Cup per person (can only be used in hotel where guests are staying, NOT in any Theme Parks).

There was another thread on this subject, but it got moved to the Rumors board. I'm not sure why, since it was not a rumor and was DDP specific, but that's where it went.

The gist of that thread was that many things are announced in the UK first because they make plans farther ahead than we do -- and also, that travel companies like Virgin often charge far more than Disney charges here in the US, so the price comparisons aren't always accurate.

I think a Quick Service plan would be very beneficial to many families, provided it was priced reasonably. The plan you describe for the same price as Basic DDP now (a little less for adults, $3 more for kids) would certainly be no bargain.

If they raised the Basic DDP to $50, that would be no bargain either.

Any info on the 2009 Disney Dining Plan is being moved to the rumors board until such time as WDW announces its 2009 package details.

Although many are making projections based on the British information, it's also been pointed out by British posters that Virgin tends to mark up prices, so US customers may not be able to accurately predict 2009 US prices from what's been posted from Virgin.
