Maybe you all knew, but I just found out today. On online dining reservations, you can now book:
Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party
Fantasmic dinner package
Dinner with an Imagineers
Special wine dinner
And I think one more.

Anyone done the dessert party? I am thinking about booking it for our trip in March, but $35.99 seems expensive for only dessert and no characters. Is it worth it?

I booked the Dessert Party for our February trip. We'll have a late lunch at the Plaza Restaurant, and then go to the Dessert Party instead of dinner, lol. For us, the $$$ works out. The cost is lower for our dates though. The reviews I've read are largely positive. The biggest negative I've read is that you can't fully see the parade, but that's not important to us.

I'm already on dessert overload with the dining plan - can't imagine spending $100 for the 3 of us for sweets we should be avoiding. I didn't realize it was THAT expensive.

I guess that it's a matter of how you view it. I don't eat a lot of sweets. They have fruit, tea, coffee etc... available. I never go into Disney thinking "am I getting my money's worth?" from dining, because I would NEVER be able to get my money back in food, lol. I figure I'm paying more for the experience. YMMV.

Is it really 35.99/person? I was thinking I read somewhere that it was around 25/person. I will be going on my birthday in June and was hoping to book it. I bet that would be peak pricing, so I'm probably looking at 35.99/person, huh?

I may do it as a birthday treat for my son, but for 6 of us it seems too expensive. It's also not covered by the dining plan - which we don't have. Do have TIW card though, so I'll have to check to see if it is we can at least use that to get the cost down.

Well I checked for a date over our Spring Break trip - it's $25.99 for adults (DS & I) and $13.99 for ages 3-9 (DD.) Including tax that $70 and change. That's a little better. If I wait til July and DD is 10, it's going to cost me a lot more. I guess I could live with $70 for something we'll likely only do one time.

We did the dessert party for the special MK fireworks on July 3rd. Our group was 6 adults and 3 kids, and we thought it was totally worth it. The desserts were wonderful, plenty of them, we were out of the crowd , we had excellent viewing of the fireworks, and there was even cool air blowing in the open area. We used the Disney Rewards from the Disney Visa CC.

This is actually exactly what I was hoping to book. But it wasn't pulling up any dates for July yet. So I put in the spring date and there was availability and I save some money since DD turns 10 in May.

Wow!
Thanks for the info.

We did the Fireworks dessert party for DD when she turned 1. We didn't want to have to stake out a spot in the middle of Main Street for hours.
Honestly the dessert was just ok, but the fact that we didn't have to sit on the ground for hours waiting for a good spot was worth the $ for us (= me :) ).
I wouldn't do it on every trip. But if there's special occasions like annivs, bdays or whatever else is special, I would definitely consider it. Then again there's only the 3 of us now so it's not crazy expensive yet... :)

Same for me. We had my dgd (2) her first time, nice not have to worry about finding good spot, but would not do it for adults.

Has anyone done the special wine dinner? I would love to read more about this.

I just thought about booking the dessert party for next Sunday. It's $21.99 each. We decided to skip it. After tax it's about $45 for the two of us. I looked at someone's TR with great pics of the dessert offerings and I don't think I could personally eat $22 worth of desserts. I think we'll pick up a great treat at the bakery and find a nice spot to watch Wishes for far less then $45!
