Hi to anyone who reads this. I booked the Apr, 22 2015 on the Wonder for my DW and 3 kids, 2DD and 1 DS ( age 11,9,7) This is our second cruise ( both my ideas) the first was an eastern Carribean 7 nights on the Fantasy. To be honest, for us it was a bust ! I could not get my kids to engage with what Disney had marketed for kids.... kids clubs etc. They didn't want to go near them which put stress on me via my wife , as she could not relax. After a while I asked her to take a chance and try it again.

Now we are on the Wonder for 4 nights and I hope that we can find something for the kids. My oldest daughter(11) could go to the tween's club, but I fear she won't go alone. Would Disney let my 9 year old go with her?

I think they would be ok if they met friends but that us hard to do when it is so crowded etc..

We are giving Disney one more try, but if this doesn't work, I guess I'm on my own. If anyone has any advice.... let me know..... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REPLY !

I have a very shy child. She hates the kids club because there are so many kids in there and most are little. The Edge (tween club) wouldn't let her go with her sister at 9, but I think they are all a little different and it never hurts to ask.

The best thing I did for my little ones was put them on "kids only" threads on this board. I also have them email kids (asking the parents if anyone wants to email before the cruise) and they got to know kids that way. It made a huge difference this time around and my daughter had a blast. In fact, I was a little lost because it was just me with my 3 kids and they all ventured off without me. :confused3

I also found table mates with a daughter her age and after 3 nights (so on the 4th night) she actually opened up and spoke to them. The last day, they invited her out on Castaway Cay with them and she went with them. She had a blast and ran into the kids that she had been emailing. They all had a blast together. :goodvibes

So yes, I have been there many times with my youngest and those are the few things that really helped her meet friends and get more comfortable quickly.
