New DESTINATIONS*******

The video also shows Mexican Riviera. I think it's an old video.

Even though it looks like it might be an old video, I think since they listed MR and Hawaii it is still meant for the new announcements. It also gives me hope that the announcement will go through September to slip Hawaii in there. As for the Baltic's and Norway, I think they will still be in the announcement, they just didn't specifically include them in the videol - maybe as a surprise. ;)

I really hope the MR comes back for us on the west! That would be great!
:thumbsup2!!!

The baby (ok well she is 9) says she will go anywhere as long as it's with Disney and mommy. I am pretty sure she ranks us in that order. :rotfl2:
:rotfl: I think my DD(11) feels the same way, so we're in the same boat! ;)

DCL Panama Canal cruises usually stop along the Mexican Riviera, and the Hawaiian cruises visited Encinada. Since the drug cartels are still giving Mexico tourism a bad reputation I doubt DCL is ready to sail the MR as regularly as they did before.

Hawaii cruise is required by law to visit a "distant foreign port," as the DCL ships are not registered in the US. Last time they chose Ensenada. Not sure if they'd choose something different this time, or just go back there.

Or they could start in Vancouver. ...

Or end in Ensenada, but getting bussed across the border would be a crummy way to end a cruise.

BTW, no ports in Canada or Mexico are considered "Distant" foreign ports. The law is really tricky there. If a cruise is round-trip from the same U.S. city, then a Mexican or Canadian port will satisfy the law. If the cruise is one way to/from Hawaii then DCL would have to start in Canada or end in Mexico.

If a cruise begins in Port Canaveral and ends in New York City, that's traveling between two U.S. ports and the ship would have to sail without passengers. Strange maritime law.

How did the cruise to nowhere work then? Left NYC and returned to NYC two days later. Are they exempt? Just curious.

There should be a sticky entitled "What a Hawaii Cruise Can and Cannot Do".

One of the cruise lines (I think it's either RCL or Norwegian) has a ship that just does hops around the Hawaiian islands from Honolulu, and they had to register this particular ship in the US to be able to do it. I think it's the only cruise line around (at least the only major one) to have a ship registered in the US, and then only one ship. There are pretty big benefits to cruise lines to register their ships somewhere other than the US.

Other lines do the cruise from the US to Hawaii but they have to stop at some far-off Pacific island.

I still wonder if the Russian "issue" is delaying a final decision on the Baltics. With sanctions and threats of more annexation by Putin, it isn't the *best* time to be making commitments to St Petersburg. Of course, those commitments may already be made, but if I were Disney, I would be thinking a bit about the Russia angle. May be why the Baltics doesn't appear on the ad....

What time do you think the the announcement will come tomorrow? I am so excited it almost feels like Christmas Eve as a kid!

I'm going on a Baltic cruise this June, so it will be interesting to see if we still go to St. Petersburg!

The video on the website is interesting. DCL is definiteliy not going to NY/Canada or Hawaii this year (2014), but the rest of it are ports that they still go to (the Riviera is part of the PC cruises). I didn't see anything that looked like Northern Europe (Norway or Copenhagen) in the Europe montage either, which makes me suspicious that the video is old. Anyone know if there was a video on that page yesterday or two days ago?

Why do you say, "DCL is definitely not going to Ny/Canada or Hawaii this year"???

And of course my OBB expires at the end of June 2015.... So will probably cancel this one completely and cruise out of NYC in the summer or even September.

But that means our cross-country trip will have to wait another year...
