New D23 Member Levels

I think I profited from D23 this year. I am not a collector so I sold three of the magazine on Ebay and got almost full price. At least 10 each. I also went to the D23 convention for the day for $30. Sold the Star Wars Poster for $20 on Ebay. Also sold collectable pins. Then went to the UP event a value of about $60.. Got a nice art piece as well. I also have the day one pin which on Ebay was going for a good amount.

It can be a win win :rotfl2:

Now if I renew they will send me another collectable pin!!! The pin is at least a $10 value.

" I never signed up or subscribed in any disney magazines cause i think it is too expensive!..." I'LL STICK TO DIS.......forever!....:love:popcorn::

I don't get all this, "I'll stick with the DIS" stuff. You don't have to give up the DIS to be in D23. You can do both. :)

I got the D23. I didn't go to the events. I just get the magazine in the mail. And after spending all that money on the magazine, it arrives to sell me more stuff. This is a constant problem I have with Disney. They never deliver on the promises. They promise magic, you pay them, you get commercials on how you can get magic if you pay more. There's always one more hoop. They just dangle the carrot.

There has been some interesting stuff in the magazine, but they could - in fact, they SHOULD do much better.

I don't think I'll sign up again.

The carrot this time, at least for me, is the Tink pin and calendar that you will get when you renew. Darn those carrots!!!!

I received a reponse from Disney about the high shipping rates;

Dear Rebecca,

We are delighted to have received your recent email and we appreciate your interest in DisneyStore.com.

I am following up with our Shipping Department to see if there is anything that can be done about the international shipping rate for the D23 Silver Membership. As soon as I have more information, I will let you know.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions. We look forward to future opportunities to be of service to you.

Sincerely,

:thumbsup2

So looks like it may have been a mistake! Hoping they bring the cost down to something reasonable :)

It does appear like they are trying to actively add more benefits to the membership...more discounts, etc. However, they still seem centered on DL and not WDW.

Also, the discounts may be comparable to those that their likely fanbase already have by being a DVC member, AP holder, etc. and thus it still really doesn't add value.

Now, free or at least heavily discounted membership for AP holders would make it more interesting...

I'm wondering about the e-newsletters. Do they have any discounts in them for rooms/dining/merchanidse at wdw and disneyland? Is there anything like the old magic kingdom club discounts or something like that?
