new Courtyard Marriott taking reservations

For a party of six, that absolutely makes sense. Four a party of four, not so much.

I tried to quote some one who said PPH was now cheaper then this hotel?
How did you get such a good rate?
Seems so strange to me. I made a slight adjustment to our dates and PPH hotel is now $50 less than the new Marriott for a standard room for 2 adults and 2 children.

I think I just got killed by all the Disney runners. We're going the week before the Avengers race and extending into the weekend. This hotel is booked up solid from the night of Veteran's Day through the weekend. Really bummed about this. My kids would've loved the water slides and I would've loved the price they offered that week. But those rooms were booked by 10am on the 14th by all those racers. We'll be at the HoJo and my kids will get to walk by those huge waterslides everday wondering why daddy booked the little waterpark hotel. Now I have daddy envy! I'm guessing the races won't do anything great for the crowds at the parks either. If only my AP lasted a few days longer I'd go the next week.

I just booked the 3 bedroom premium suite for April 2016. This will be our first DL trip so very excited to try this new hotel. We are doing 4 adults and 2 kids in the room. From my understanding the bunks are twin size so my DH and I will be bunking with kids for the week since grandparents are joining us.

could you book and have half stay there? For the kids

I've been pondering it. But we're already switching after the week over to Legoland. Two switches just doesn't seem very magical. Plus, if I were to switch, for just a little more I could do a Disney hotel. I would've been willing to spend the extra $ for staying there the whole week, but those runners are just too fast.

Chris- I think I just responded to you on Facebook too, but in one of the posts on the Courtyard's facebook page, they mentioned that not all dates were open for booking including the Star Wars marathon weekend (which someone had asked about). I wonder if the week of Veterans day and the avengers marathon is also not open yet.

I would keep checking on availability and even try calling as it gets closer to your date. You know how people book 2 or 3 places and then end up cancelling. I'm also wondering if Disney will see this as legitimate competition and offer bigger discounts to get people to stay onsite, especially at PPH.

Yes... keep checking availability. I read somewhere on the hotel's Facebook page that they have not released all of the dates for booking - including dates that they project to be in high demand. I'm looking to book from 12/26 - 1/3 and the dates have not been made available online yet.

Not sure I completely understand the parking policy. Is it $15/day valet only, or is there a self parking option?

I was wondering about this myself. A resort that's closer to the parks, has more waterslides that PPH, and is probably $80-100/night cheaper on average...PPH may get killed by this resort. And every other resort will start pondering a huge waterpark as well. It's all good for consumers. Now if they'd just open up that week for me.

Yes, that was me. Thanks for the info! Amazing how if you air your problem in the right place you can get an answer. Hoping that they open it up this week. I'd be willing to pay the extra cash to stay there. Seems like a great place.

I agree, too high for us. Last week I booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express that is opening in August right next to this new Courtyard. It's half the price, and includes a hot breakfast. I'm sure the pool will be very basic. I debated whether or not we should stay at the courtyard, but it makes no sense for us. We are at the parks ALL day, and only use the pool at night after we return (parks close at 8pm then). I know people are loving the large room sizes of the courtyard, but it makes no difference to us. We are only in our room to sleep. I'd love to stay at the Courtyard, but for us, it just doesn't make sense.

Do you happen to know how on earth I can find the website for that holiday inn express? I can't seem to find it anywhere!!
