You can use AAA to get discounts on chaeracter meals? Do you just tell them when you call disney dining that you have AAA or what? Is it 10% at WDW and DLR?

Thanks-
Lynda

yes you can use your AAA card at the character meals at the hotels and Ariels and Plaza Inn....no you dont tell them anything....when you check in and are paying for the meal you just show the card and they deduct 10%:goodvibes

Thank you:goodvibes

So the GAT Vouchers would be my best/cheapest option for both of these meals?

Sorry just double checking before I call and make our reservations.:wizard:

for you yes...because the time that you are going is peak dining season so yes the GAT would be cheaper...but if one goes during offpk dining season then its not cheaper to use GAT

Are you sure about the AAA card getting a 10% discount automatically? I thought my AAA agent said I could buy prepaid Ariel lunch for a 5% discount...

Also, if I buy the vouchers from this link, do they mail them to me, or do I print them out? Is this a reputable place? Will the vouchers work when I arrive?

Now i'm confused, GAT has character breakfast vouchers for 26.50 Adults and 16.50 children, but i'm also a AAA member so which should I do? From reading this it sounds like the prices just went up so I should still do GAT :confused3

Bennyb98 did you buy a package through AAA for your trip? If you did you may be able to add the breakfast tickets to your package and get your 10% discount...I just added another character breakfast to my package yesterday and I paid $116.91...this is four 4 adults and 1 child...
the price listed on Disney website in resort packages if you add the meals:

Resort Character Breakfast:
Adult/Junior $28.45
Child 16.10
It was 10% off this total...my AAA travel agent was able to do this for us...jc

Whish character meals are there are DLR?

Where are they each located?

Which characters are at each?

Thanks... new to DLR... not sure which to do!

Thanks, but I booked everything by my self. So I think I will just use the AAA discount as it will be about a dollar cheaper.

Thank you, thank you for this thread! I got online with GAT right away and paid for the Ariel dinner. Compared to the "walk up" price, and even with my AAA discount, the GAT saved us over $20 off for dinner on 8/16 (2 adults and 1 child).

I printed the voucher right away, and confirmed with Customer Service, that I can walk up to the gate and trade the voucher for tickets. Includes tax and tip.

You guys are the best!

We got 10% off at Lilo & Stitch with our Disney Visa on our visit in June. If I'm correct, I think that's the only character meal that you get a discount for with DV. They ring it as an AP discount.

Ok... exactly how does this GAT thing work? I get on their website and order the vouchers? Do I print them off or are they mailed? And when I get the voucher do I just take it to the character meal and hand it to them? I already have reservations made for my trip in August but would like to save money.

Thanks,
Ben

Also has anyone tried any of these promo codes on checkout retailmenot.com/view/getawaytoday.com ? The $50 Disney shopping card was accepted when I tried it to total up my meals.

You order through GAT and get a receipt. You p/u the voucher at DL - from Will Call or if you are staying on site, you can get them at your hotel.

The $50 Disney Shopping card is no longer valid - take a look at the checkout, there will be no card listed. The code does not say it is not valid though - I spoke to a rep on Saturday about this code.

Thanks for that!!! We are doing Lilo & Stitch as well and I have a DV.

:cheer2:

I wanted to let everyone know......When I was just on the phone booking our AP7 rate for the DLH for October :yay:........The CM told me that you can pre-purchase your Dinning vouchers and add them on to your reservation. They will have them at the front desk when you check in :) He quoted my a price of $33.00/adult and $14.00/child for goofy's kitchen. He said that it is cheaper then with our AP discount. I always thought you could only get those thru the packages. Just wanted to let everyone know...in case you didn't :)

Hi Ben,
I printed the voucher 20 seconds after the website authorized my payment. Just bring the voucher with you to DL and they will give you 'tickets' for the dinner. Voucher must be redeemed at the ticket counter at the gate or the Disney Resort property.

Hope that helps!

Sorry to sound stupid, but what's GAT?
I tried to look but it's on in the abbrev. list post either... :)

NEVER MIND!!!
I found it... :)
