I've never used this service before. We leave in a week. How does it work?

yeah but if you have an AP or AAA it ends up being more expensive to use this...because we get 10% off...so this is good for people who dont have either:thumbsup2

disneegrl4eva-
You can use AAA to get discounts on chaeracter meals? Do you just tell them when you call disney dining that you have AAA or what? Is it 10% at WDW and DLR?

Thanks-
Lynda

Maybe someone can clear this up for me...

When I look at dlresortinfo . com it says Arials is $25.99/adult lunch or dinner. But this site shows the regular price is $28 something. Am I looking at old rates?

If so what are the current rates or where can I find them?

Will the AAA discount include Gratuity?

Our first trip also and not sure how dining works at DL.

Thanks for posting!

Well, Goofy's (and probably the other character buffets too) automatically adds gratuity to the bill now (which I think is outrageous because it is a buffet and the servers do not bring you food, they bring you beverages), so I imagine the AAA discount applies to the entire bill. When you show up at Goofy's, they have you pay up front before being seated (unlike what it used to be, when they would charge you at the end of your meal), and then you tell them about any discounts you have. But, even if they took the discount of of the base amount and then added in their gratuity charges, it would still come to about the same total! I think it is awful that they keep raising the prices of the buffet AND they make you pay full gratuity when you are the one serving yourself, just to have someone bring over your coffee and juice.

The rates on this site and every other site are wrong. I called Disney Dining yesterday and got all the rates for the character meals. I was shocked at how much they had went up just since we were there in January. I will list the rates I got yesterday and since I already have both discounts figured for the people in my party I will list those as well. Sorry I only have these three. I wrote the rest down but didn't include them in the email to myself because we don't usually do brunch or breakfast. Hope this helps though because the sites really need to update their prices.

Goofy's Kitchen - Adult $39.64 10% -$40.14 15%-$37.91
Kids $19.82 10% -$17.84 15%-$16.85

Ariels Grotto Dinner - Adult $39.64 10%-$35.68 15%-$33.69
Kids $22.29 10%-$20.06 15%-$18.95

Storytellers Breakfast - Adults $29.08 10%-$26.17 15%-$24.72
Kids $15.07 10%-$13.56 15%-$12.81

The anaheim OC site mentioned in the OP sells vouchers for meals. They sell those vouchers for the prices listed in the OP. Meaning that buying the vouchers is an *excellent* bargain vs paying for the meals in cash/cc/etc at the restaurants.

Oh the 10% is for those holding a deluxe pass in my party that won't be with me when I use my Premium and get 15% off. In the past I have always used my premium pass and gotten the discount for my entire party and I have had some HUGE parties of about 36 people once.

Just an FYI also for those interested in character dining. They are really good about letting individuals who have had weight loss surgery present their cards identifying them as having had surgery and allowing them to only pay the childs price. 2 members of my party on our last trip had had surgery and we told them at the tickets counter and they only had to pay the childs price. A good savings for those that can't eat much.

Thanks for the link.

I just noticed that the 4 day park hopper tickets are $5 cheaper than GAT. But they charge a $4 convenience fee (the $10 GAT fee can be waived with the PODCAST code). And you get an extra MM, lanyards and pins with GAT. So that all is interesting. Also if you click on the Disneyland button on the home page the prices are higher on this site than if you use OPs link or click through the attractions tab. Kinda weird.

I like the coupons on the site. One is 10% off the McDonalds across the street from DL, which is next to our hotel. So we will use that one for sure.

The Character Breakfast is less expensive by a couple bucks with GAT & code.

Also it is my understanding that you can't get any of the AAA discounts without buying their package with hotel. Someone correct me if I a wrong.

Disney's Character Breakfast $26.50 $16.50
Ariel's Disney Princess Celebration Character Lunch/Dinner $26.50 $18.50

Ok, we are going Aug 14-17, 2008. We are DVC, AAA, and WDW AP Holders.

We would like to do 1 Character Breakfast and 1 Dinner. We are staying at GCH. Can someone tell me what is our cheapest option?

I would think if the GAT vouchers include Gratuity and Tax, then that would be the way to go, but what do I know!:rotfl:

gat includes tip tax stuff. ok i would do minnies brekfest and goofys dinner

gat includes tip tax stuff. ok i would do minnies brekfest and goofys dinner

Thank you:goodvibes

So the GAT Vouchers would be my best/cheapest option for both of these meals?

Sorry just double checking before I call and make our reservations.:wizard:
