New coupon train

Just wondering, but whenever something gets mailed out (like the coupons) and it needs additional postage, isnt it supposed to come back to the sender for extra postage? At least thats what I've always thought and it has happened to me. I think I had gotten 2 back so far requiring extra postage, so I would put the extra on there and send it back out. However, klineyqueen PMed me and told me she keeps getting envie's from me that says postage due, but I never got it back I also dont get why it needs additional postage. I always weigh them using my scale I got from the post office, put in the weight on the USPS website and get the amount and then I put that amount on my envie's. I've always thought everyone was getting them OK without the extra postage due written on them.


They do not always send it back. Alot of the time I was told by my post office was that they will try and see if the person getting any mail with postage due will pay for it first. This way here their is no cost involed in sending it back. due to the fact they need to keep track of it.

So for now on if its thick, I'll use the large envelope rates.

The thickness does make a difference. I was told that if the envie is too thick it cannot be processed as a "letter" due to the fact it won't slide through the sorting machines. This also creates a delay in that envie getting delivered, it gets sorted with the "packages". Your not the only one that has had envies not come back to the sender, we have had a few that have had to pay to "receive" their envies, and this has happened in just the last few weeks. If it is a "fat" envie it is better to actually take it inside the po.

The only time he works from 11am-11pm is during the weekends, and our PO isnt open during sat and of course sunday. And they close at 4pm Mon-Friday, just as DH is getting off work. So I have to mail them out through the slot at our mailbox. As for delays, it doesnt seemed to be delayed at all when I mail it out. klineyqueen gets hers around the same time every week. I usually mail it out on Monday, she usually gets it by Wed or Thursday.

I don't think they are delayed. My postman gives me the letter with a note that I owe postage. The next day I put the money in the box and he takes the money. He doesn't even wait to give me the letter. I get the envie and the note together. It has always be $.41 due. It must be the thickness. I take mine to the PO to be weighed and they often see if it will fit into a slot. If not then it costs more.

That really isn't necessary. I told you because I figured you didn't know they were coming Postage Due. We were away at a wedding this weekend. I just went through the envies. I found a lot of great coupons. I am always amazed that there are so many different ones than I get in my paper. I will look for the envie.

OK. Glad you found many great coupons. Wish I could say the same thing about the coupons I get in the mail from my sender. About 99% of the time its the exact same coupons that I get in the newspaper from the same week. On a rare occasion I might get a coupon I didnt get in my newspaper. And its because my sender is actually really close to me so therefor our coupons are most likely are gonna be the same ones. She's in NJ and Im in DE. And your all the way in PA, so thats why you get new coupons. If I had a sender in a different state besides MD, DE and NJ, I to would probably be getting different coupons in the mail as well.

Glad you are safe I was just watching the weather reports online and glad to hear they were able to evacuate most people and do it smoothly ( at least that's what they say). I haven't weathered a hurricane in years and I don't care to ever go through it again.....prayers and thoughts for everyone this is going to affect
