I was at Costco buying sundries and noticed a new ticket offer. It is a two day ticket park to park and City Walk. One of the days includes a VIP tour with front of line, behind the scenes views, etc. The cost was around $285.

Yes, I'm not happy at all about this new ticket. I was all set to buy the 3 day PTP for $135 but they don't have that any longer.

Did this include 2 days of Express Line? Or just the 1 Day on the day of the VIP Tour

for the VIP tour day and Express the other. We won't be buying them but if you choose to stay offsite the ride benefits help offset the costs.

Yes, it says Universal Express unlimited for the rest of the days

I actually called Universal in regards to the Costco offer, and it only includes the Express Pass for the day of the VIP Tour. You get Front of the Line access during the tour, and then Express Pass the rest of the Day. Your 2nd day at the Park is just a Park to Park ticket. The VIP Experience Tour is a "Non-Private" Tour. You cannot have more than 5 people in your group, nor do you have any input into what rides you will be going on. So if you have young children, the tour guide may be choosing rollercoasters that the children are not tall enough for etc... When I called there was a bigger push for the Private tour instead.

The Costco Package is nice, if you have a small group of less than 5, and don't have any height restrictions etc... Otherwise, definitely not worth it.

Also the Tour is about 5 hours long with a 1 hour break for lunch, which is NOT included. Only the Private Tours include lunch...

I think that the best suggestion is to complain to COSTCO. They are in fact the ones who buy the ticket and if families do not want the product they will change. I know they are very responsive to what the public wants so I for one am going to complain. I hope that others will too. IN the eyes of a retailer each complaint about a product represents 1000 people.

I understand the thought about complaining, as I would too. But in hindsight, the deal isn't bad, for say a group of 4 or 5 adults that love roller coasters etc... If you compare, Universal charges I believe $250 for the 1 day, 2/Park VIP Experience. And that doesn't include the actual price to get into the Park for 2 days... What Costco is offering is a good deal, but like I said for a group of 4-5 adults. I'm a family of 5 with young kids, and this plan just won't work for us. Unfortunately Costco changed their offers to this one... But like you said, if enough complain, and sales of this plan are poor, hopefully they offer a new package for us.

YEP and they also keep a suggestion box by the door when you leave so that you can put your complaint there also. The 135.00 deal is still available BUT it expires this year. My son's gf got one last year and it is good until 2015 which is a plus for her. We planned a family trip again for next year and when it comes to Universal, I go on maybe 2 rides since they got rid of King Kong and Jaws! I wanted to see the new HP addition but it is not worth almost 300 for me.

Where is the $135 deal still available? Called the local Costco here in Ohio and they said that none of the locations in the mid west had the 3 day $135 ticket in warehouse.

I'm also interested in the $135 deal!

Haven't heard of anyone picking up the $135 deal in a while. Generally, when a new ticket comes in, the old ticket is gone.

Well.... I was counting on Costco changing their ticket expiration for the annual 3 day park to park to 2014 before we left for our single day trip in December.

With this new and "improved" ticket option, I'm not thinking this is going to work for me. We only have one day we can spend at Universal in December, but we are planning on going back next September or October for HHN '14.

Perhaps my best option is a $199 annual pass as long as I start it close to our December trip it will carry over to a trip next October.

Any thoughts guys?

Sounds like your best bet!

Wish ticket sharing was allowed. I purchased five of the 3 day Costco tickets for $135 for our family trip in December but only need two of the three days. Darn rules!:rotfl: The price was so close to the two day ticket I thought, why not! Maybe we will love it so much we will want a third day.

Good luck finding what you need.

I know how you feel - my lunch buddy has two days of a three day ticket available - and she'll never get back down there. Breaks my heart (and piggy bank) that I can't have them!!
