Well, just heard today that our newest contract passed Disney ROFR!
But that leads me to a question of IF it will be in the DVC system in time for me to bank the remaining 08 points into June use year 09--deadline of January 31 to bank.
The contract is pretty much stripped. There are no 2009 points, but I am thinking it might be possible to use the 8 pts for a 1-night reservation at some of the resorts during the 09 use year, especially if we borrow.
We have yet to even receive paperwork to return our check, so I doubt that I could bank the points. Can the current owner bank them for me now that this sale is pending?
I have emailed the selling agent and am waiting to hear their response. I really hate to lose even 8 points since the contract is so small.
It was only a 25 point contract, but it allowed my daughter to become an official DVC member since we are titling it in both of our names. Even though she was an associate member on my other contracts, she could not take advantage of buying AP's since she did not live in my household any longer. ( I realize perks may disappear at any time.) But that will help her for now anyway.
And it was good because it was the same use year and resort as my other contracts. I am aware that it will be a separate membership number since the owners on this contract are different than the other contracts, and that is what I wanted. That way, we can transfer pts. between the two membership numbers if needed at times. I have heard that we may, possibly, have luck linking reservations made from both memberships, though not guaranteed. And I know we can't combine points from one contract with another to make reservations, since they are different memberships.
My biggest question now is IF and HOW the 8 points left in 2008 can be banked into 2009...
