New Contemporary Resort Monorail/Incredibles Room Theme Announced - With Pictures

When will rooms like this be ready? Will it be all the rooms or just a certain category like 'preferred'?

All of the rooms in the Tower are currently closed/being renovated. First bookings have been available starting late Sept for awhile now, so presumably that it still on track as a completion date for some or all of the Tower rooms.

Rooms in the Garden Wing are still open, but they will be moving to renovate those rooms sometime later in the fall. Last time I checked they are bookable again starting in early’ish 2022 (don’t quote me on that exactly, I need to go check the website again).

The diagonal line motif on the wall and the curved overlay at the sliders make the room look smaller and sort of closed in. I also find the platform under the mattress to be a little odd. I foresee lots of bruises from that thing and I hope the mattress is affixed somehow or they will be sliding around.

At least they fixed the bathroom sinks and added a handheld shower!

This has me worried about an impending refurb for GF. I pray it's more upscale and warm like the Poly Moana rooms. These rooms feel very cold and sterile :sad2:

I have a reservation in October in the garden wing. Do you think they’d close the garden wing for refurbishment during that super busy period from October through December or do you think they’d just wait until January when crowds die down? I feel like they’d wait but I’d hate to get bumped out of the resort.

I may be in the minority, but I kind of like it! With 3 small kids we have always stayed at the values bc the kids like the theming of them. One time we stayed at POFQ and they were wondering where all the "Disney" was. I am actually happy they are throwing Disney themes into these deluxe rooms, we would like to try them, but to pay those kind of prices we want our kids to feel like they are at Disney as well. The way I see it, if I want a fancy resort but no Disney themes, the Waldorf is just down the road. But to complain that there are Disney characters in a Disney resort just doesn't make sense to me!

Someone on another website pointed out that it looked like they added the bulk dispenser for shampoo & conditioner in the shower. Have we discussed this yet??

Yes I pointed it out earlier on the thread. Even with the dispensers the individual items are on the counter and the bar soap in in the show insert.

They did in the Poly and WL as well. It's going to eventually happen in all of them.

we have enough Disney shampoo and conditioner in our home bathroom closet to last through another pandemic, Added a few from our last trip. Not sure that I will ever need the shower caps though.,,,

I was just checking for drawer space……who thinks 3 drawers in the closet is enough for a family of 5? I guess we’ll be living out of our suitcases!!!!!
One good thing is the bathroom sinks! Yay!

I do not care for it either. I think it's the colors that are ruining it. The red is not relaxing at all, and I need relaxing after a day in the parks. I would find it hard to sleep in these rooms.
Same. I am bothered so much by the color scheme.

Sorry I missed it when scrolling through the earlier threads.

Another nice touch at Riviera is having drawers at the end of the raised beds. I am surprised they didn’t do that here.

I love mid century modern and this works really well. I understand those who don't like th infusion of IP. I would prefer it not be thereeither and instead add geometrical midcentury patterns on the curtains, closet backing and pillows. AoA itis not!!! That place was so over the top on the inside that is was gaudy! I do see a bit of cheapness in it. The archway in front of the curtains seems a bit cheap looking but it is still okay. Some of this may look better in person and some may not. Unfortunately the bathroom doesn't seem to have had mnay touches added in there though it is a pleasantly clean looking bathroom.

I think they look like straight up garbage. Way too sterile...I am all for taking out nasty carpet and bed runners but the color scheme makes it look worse. And why the couch under the TV? It looks like a hospital room sort of. no way would I pay the current price for those rooms...

So the only thing I’m personally struggling with - and again I’ll wait to experience it myself before really judging - is the window wall structure. I know this fish-eyed camera lens is probably distorting things a bit - but that wall looks thick - like it definitely eats into what used to be room space. Plus it closes in the windows and makes the room ‘look’ narrower. Two normal pluses with CR rooms are their size and floor/ceiling windows (other than the extreme left and right side of the windows).

Guess we’ll see how it feels in real life.

I am strangely attracted to that window wall structure. :rotfl:
The more I look at it, the more I love it!

"Oh dear.....it looks like a value resort"

Sorry, it's just kinda funny reading the reactions and that's about all I can hear.

These rooms at just about all the Deluxe have never been more than Hampton Inn or Marriott quality and people still pay exorbitant prices for them because of their location.
