New computer!!

I’m back and more powerful!

My old computer bit the dust in a big way. My CD burner lasted long enough for me to get my book and photos off, then went to the junk-yard in the sky. My DVD player broke about a year ago so there was no way to re-load the operating system.

What a pity.

I didn’t realize that my computer was the ‘car equivalent’ of a ’71 Ford Pinto station wagon. I got used to ignoring the grinding sounds, waiting for a page to load while on high speed internet was just part of life. Parts of my motherboard were burned out so I could only have 96 megs of RAM. My hard drive was a 12 gig and FULL.

I’m driving a Ferrari now!

This computer is 100 times better than mine was.

The best part? The part that makes me dance?

It’s a laptop!!

I now have a 40 GB hard drive to fill up and 512 MB of RAM. CD burners and DVD players now come with laptops. Who would have guessed?

So here I sit on my comfy couch typing away. I am so happy!

I have so much to catch up on. Ugg, and so much to re-load.

I missed you guys!

Loubon!!! Congrats on the new toy Robin, I am envious! Whenever I have enough $$$, AFTER we enjoy a nice, long trip to WDW (HEY, I CAN DREAM) Ihope we too can become unchained from the computer deak. I have a 1/2 wait for DS in his school pick-up line...I am always thinking...Geez..I could be DISing right now!

Get wireless internet in your house and then you can take your laptop with you to the bathroom and DIS. I do some of my best posting on the DIS from my throne.
