New codes are out for DC members! Post your deals here!

Mclori,
Does your 7 night rate at the Poly include taxes? Your rate is lower than other 7 night rates posted on some of the corresponding threads.

For anyone- can let me know whether taxes are included in these posted rates? Thanks guys!

I called the DC reservation # at about 7:06 a.m. est this morning.

When I asked about the Fairytale package she had a bit of a hard time finding it at first. She had to put me on hold for about five minutes. After coming back in she put in October 18-25th (seven nights) for one adult and one child under 9, and I received the following amounts:

All-Star Movies: $911.00 standard view.

Coronado Springs: $1110.56 standard view.

Animal Kingdom Lodge: $1534.27 Standard view.
$ 1873.21 Savannah View.

All these amounts were w/out trip insurance.

She said the package would include a "character frame, art and pin"?? But didn't give any details regarding these items.

She did say that my cancel policy was five days prior to arrival??
I don't know if she had the correct info in that, though. Also she only needed a $100 deposit.

Hope this helps someone out there!!

Ohh those are the dates I want for the AS!! I'm not a DC member, so I hope to get this on Sunday. My question is...did you tell her you wanted the Fairytale package and then give her the dates of for 7 nights or did you just give her the 4 nights dates? (make sense?)

Okay, I'll be the lone dissenter for now and say I'm not happy with this package.

Why? Well, I priced some things:
Basically the DreamMaker Package(DM) and the FairyTale Package(FT) are the same except you get a pin with the DM and a picture with the FT.
So I asked what 4 nights would cost with the DM, and then the 7 nights with "only paying for 4" for the FT package. Now you would think they would be the same right?

Nope, the FT package is almost $300 more! Why? That is what I would like to know too. When I asked DC, they just kept tap dancing around the issue and saying they were two different packages.

Personally, it looks like I'm still going to be looking for AP rates or codes after 7/4!

When it says 'Silver plan add-on' does that mean to include passes??
I currently have a reservation at AKL 10 nights...standard view...total price$1,331.00...is that good? It does not include tickets..I figured I would get 2 annuals.

Not sure whether it's better to change to the above packages (Fairytale) help?

Minnie56,

The Fairytale Package includes room and UPH tickets.

The silver add-on plan is the 2 wishes per person per night to be used for food, etc.

The silver plan can be added on but you don't get 3 days for free.

That sounds like a better deal for me as it includes tickets.
Appreciate your help!:D

minnie56..the silver plan adds magical wishes that you can use for meals, recreational things etc. The FairyTale plan includes room and passes.

cindala...I also checked out the math. For 5 nights at the Polynesian (2 adults/1 child) the Dreammaker plan would be $2506. For 8 nights...$3767. I am paying $2496 for 8 nights using the FT plan. Is it a little more expensive than the regular 5 nights at DM rate? Mine is coming out $10 less and I get 3 nights free. My 'problem' was that we were going to use PH passes and not go to a park every day. But, with this new plan I'm moving from WL to Polynesian and paying $300 more than I originally budgeted. I think I'm coming out ahead on this one, for a change.

Hi Cindala,
If I am understanding the DM and FT packages right you would have to compare a 7 day DM with a 7 day FT package and then compare prices. Even the way you figured, it is still only $300 for three more days of a resort room and tickets, which is a pretty good deal. I might be all wet on this, as figures do do tricks. Am also curious as to what is right, as we have reservations for July 4th-11th. Bob

I think what cindala is getting at is that they are saying you get 7 nights for the price of 4. But in reality it is costing $300 more and they are saying they are different packages since they changed the name and the "free gift".
Is that it cindala??

I am also still looking for AP rates or codes for room only in Oct.
I did put a hold on this package just so I don't lose what might be the only deal I could get:confused:
I am always covering my bases!

Ok I just did a price quote on WDW.com for 4 nights at the All Stars....got this:

Review Quote

Your Disney Vacation (USD) $955.95
October 18, 2003-October 22, 2003 (4 nights) Change dates
1 Adult, 1 Child

Now according to a couple posts above, this price is only about almost the same as the price quoted for 7 nights during the same time. Maybe it's a bigger difference at the Moderates and Deluxe resorts, but from what I see, it's a pretty good deal and you actually are getting the 3 additional nights for free.

I just booked 7 nights (2 adults) at the Poly (standard view) for $2055 for Oct 18-25th. I'm hoping better "room only" codes come out as I think it may be cheaper than the UPH and I need 9 nights (& didn't want to book the extra 2 at rack rate) but I booked it for now.

In case anyone is interested: I was also quoted: $1587 for the same at the WL (standard view)

I got 2 standard rooms at GF for 3 adults and 3 children for July5-12 (7nights) for $4,437.69.

My cm did not know what Fairytale Package was when I originally called. Now I'm wondering if she gave me the DC discount $50 off the package. I'll have to call back and check.

I'M FINALLY STAYING AT GF!!!!! YEAH!!!!

I posted on the other thread then saw this one (sorry!)

Here's what happened....

===================

My Trip cost MORE!!!

Right now I have booked 6 nights- room only at Beach Club Concierge - followed by 4 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge Concierge. (Me and DD9 travelling)

The total for the 2 of us room only + taxes is 4064.00.

Plus I bought 2 - 7 day park hopper ++'s at 610.00 total - so the total amount of my trip is $4674.00

====

When I called today to price out this Fairytale package - the total for 6 nights BC concierge and 4 nights AKL concierge with ultimate park hoppers included is 4972.48

I think I will stick with what I have LOL. I guess the big difference is I have 7 day park hoppers + 4 days access to water parks.. where this package would be 10 days access to anything.

We don't need that - because there are days we are just staying at the hotel - with no parks planned.

Oh well - last year I paid full rate too - there were no codes for when I travelled.... oh well.

>>^..^<<

I just called the Disney Club. My membership expires at the end of this month and the CM told me that I could not renew it. Hmmmm.

Anyway, here is the quote I got for 9 nights WL woods view, one adult and 2 children: 2322.17. This includes tax and insurance. She coudn't answer my question as to whether the standard rooms were all non-smoking and being the rotten person that I am, I will go mad if I can't have a cigarette. I remember reading that the smoking optional rooms were either woods or courtyard view ergo the woods view.

Still considering if this package is worth it or to take a chance on codes and get the AP's.

I am a little confused by the FT package too.

I had originally booked CBR for Oct 26 - 30 for $1026.32 with DC discount. This was room, UPH, and No insurance.

Now with the FT package I have Oct 24 - 31 for $1163.89. Still with No insurance.

I am confused b/c you are supposed to book 4 nights and get 3 free so I figured I would still be paying $1026 and getting the 3 nights for free. Why am I now paying $137 more? I am not complaining b/c I am getting more days now. I am just curious why it works out to be more.

I talked to three CMs this morning (my phone line went dead b/c of storms) and they all knew about FT package. They were extremely helpful but they do seem to be pushing the silver add on. Also I am not sure if they gave me the $50 discount b/c it was never mentioned. I will call and find out.

I just called the Disney Club. My membership expires at the end of this month and the CM told me that I could not renew it.

Call the member services number. Mine expires in Aug. and they let me renew through Dec. for about $10.

I consider this a good deal for my family. Had we booked room only and bought 7 day park hoppers, it would have come out to around $2500, including my DC discount. With this package deal, it is costing us $2067. That's a savings of almost $500. We had originally booked WL, but with the deal, decided to upgrade to Poly. We were really tempted to do concierge, but I don't think I could justify spending that kind of money right now.

I booked CR tower room 6 nights, 2 kids, 2 adults for $2439.57. Bummer is 7 nights is the same amount! We just added the 6th night a week ago, I just don't think we can do a 7th! We are also spending 2 nights at HRH. Anyway, I booked at full rate and was at 2200 and some change, and now we are just 200 more with tickets! And Spectro is running the night we get there and we will be able to go see it now!:Pinkbounc

DisneyRoys and cindala,

I think I know why a 7-night Fairytale Vacations Package does not cost exactly the same as a 4-night Disney Club Dream Maker package.

When you buy a Dream Maker package through Disney Club, you get a standard discount on the room rate. This varies by season, but averages 10%. Plus you get the usual $50 per booking discount.

The standard 10% (or whatever) Disney Club discount on the room rate is NOT applied to the new Fairytale packages. Instead the rate is based on the undiscounted rack rate. You only get the Disney Club $50 per booking discount.

If you do the math, you'll find that a 7-night Fairytale Vacations Package IS very close or identical to the total of 4 nights' rack rate in the hotel plus a 4 night/5 day Ultimate Park Hopper pass. (Any variations are usually because of insurance, etc.) So far that's what I'm finding, anyway!

So you really are getting about 43% off, but it's off the rack rate, not the discounted Disney Club rate. Make sense?
