New Code??

they said its not a general public code and there should be a pin number asscoiated with it

That's what I was afraid of. I know that when I got a pin code back in 2003 my reservation confirmation came back with a three letter code on it.

Thanks for trying everyone! Especially to Denise who tried really hard...

Okay. Since I can't reply to PMs I have an idea. If someone is willing to PM me with their email address, I will be glad to send on the 3 letter code. I'm not a loon, just a mom happy to spead a bargain.

Denise
Thank you and I sent you a pm.:wizard:

ooops, read pages 4 and 5 posts after posting -- Did someone confirm that it's not public? Who?

I just called and tried it and the CM said you need a pin code to go with that code. Oh well, hopefully soon a public code will be out!!!!

I guess I need to call and check for a PIN attached to my name.
It seems that alot of people have been reporting them lately

How do you become eligiable for these discounts?

My family travels every year to WDW and I make my reservations through Disney Travel and I never recieve discounts, codes, pins etc. :confused3

While I am not a moderator THESE boards.. I do know a thing or two about codes.

Behind every long numerical 'PIN' code.. lurks a three letter booking code that the CM uses to book the vacation into the computer system. If the PIN is not 'attached' to your information in the reservations computers then the three letter booking code "in theory" won't work.

Last year, what happened was, the secret three letter code for the 40% off promotion was leaked on the internet. Many people called and booked with that three letter code ... and the booking software/computers didn't recognize that it should have rejected the code because of the missing PIN.

Long story short ... ANY proper general public discounts codes will ALWAYS be posted right here on the DIS at this webpage as soon as they are announced... and confirmed by Disney.

It should be noted that any packages inadvertently booked with a code which requires a PIN may have any code discounts removed and the total package price adjusted UPWARDS.. if the PIN is not associated with your reservation file.

NEVER post a three letter discount code to the boards without confirming with at least one of the RESORTS BOARDS moderators: SafetyMom, Trekker or SueEllen.

What has happened in this instance is that this person has a PIN associated with their account .. which they found out about by asking the CM on the phone. When they made their reservation, the confirmation includes the 'secret' three letter code used in association with the PIN.

That does NOT mean this is a public discount code. It is not.

Thanks!

Knox

Last year I did not have a pin attached to my name. I was able to use the Z-- code that I found floating around the DIS boards. (this code was NOT a public code)

I guess I was lucky, I did not have a pin, and they let me use a 3 diget code, and my reservation was not cancelled, it saved me 40%And I got a photopass DVD for free, can't beat that! .

When I called Disney to make my reservation - they told me I had 2 pin codes associated with my name and the CM did say the other one was a 3 letter code and he mumbled the letters when he was checking to see what code was better for me. I didn't catch all the letters but the 40% code ended up being a better deal for me and the dates I wanted. I do know that the 3 letter code was valid for Dec 7th - 13th.

OK, my BIL just got a postcard today with the code for 40% off. I understand the whole pin would have be attached to my name to use the code, but would he be able to book more than one room with his code and pin????

And to see if I have a pin attached to my name, do you just call reservations and ask????

I just booked a room last week with AAA discount.

Would the CM automatically offer to tell me if there was a code attached or you do you have to ask?

I don't think they would automatically tell you you have a code to be honest - only would if you asked.

My reason for stating this would be my circumstances on the phone with them last night. We just got back on Monday from our trip to Disney that I had booked in November. I booked the bounceback offer in April while we were there for our upcoming trip. I decided to call to see if I happened to get a 40% off code because our dates do fall within the April dates posted on the board (and the FWCabins were only discounted 30% down to $209-$219 from $299-$314) so a little 10% extra off would have been nice. I asked about a pin - the reservationist put me on hold and told me I did have a pin associated with my name and it shows that it has been valid from OCTOBER 07 through March 13, 08. First I heard about it. I guess since I made an AP rate booking for January they didn't bother to tell me the details of what that offer would have been. Who knows???

Anyways - I didn't get the 40% off code but am hoping that if I call back they will let me try to book another reservation using the bounceback offer. I guess I should have asked if you were allowed to make more than one reservation with it.

Same for me. I remember it being such a big deal. Some of us were able to call and use it while, other came up short. We luckily got to use it and stayed at AKL, without any hassles.

Yes, he can book more than one room with the code. He can book up to three but they have to be at the same time and he must check in. I did this last year.

So is the second room in his name or mine??? Do they have to be the same package?? How does paying for it work???

Are there any certain dates with that discount that you have to travel or is it for the whole year?

When you bounceback is there a discount?

Thanks

Hi everyone...sorry....don't mean to sound stupid or anything but what are these codes? Do you have to already have a reservation to call in and see if your name has one attached to it? Otherwise, where would they get your name from?
Sorry but I've never heard of this before. Thanks for the help! :)
