New code watch - October/November

is there a way to go back and see if there have been codes for that resort in the past, or do I just book ap and make sure I purchase it before I get there?

there is a way and it is posted on this a few pages back i believe. you can book and purhcase when you get there, tell them you are buying it and I was told you can show it to them later.

I could be reading too much into this...BUT...the online Disney Visa credit card account states that you won't be able to manage your account from late Saturday to midday Sunday...my hope is that they are adding on special code rates for Disney Visa holders and such. . .just one more reason to believe codes will come out this Sunday. . .

Sorry if this is a really dumb question but when you say 'codes' does this simply mean that the rooms will show up at a discounted price on Disney's reservation pages or do you actually get a code word to type in? Last year when I went (and got the discount) I think the rooms simply dropped in price. Those darn codes never seem to work for me! LOL

I am stressing my poor husband out by checking everyday and every night for rates. We are both on the forums checking....Please AP rates come out!
We are going in October. October 7-15th to be exact..Staying at the Pop! I don't know if I can take the stress of waiting any longer!

I guess I need some clarification. When you talk about the a/p discount code coming out do you already have a reservation in and hope it will be discounted? Or will they give an a/p discount to a reservation made that didn't meet the 120 day window? We have reservations for Oct 22-29 not through the best rate program and we have a/p's. If they release a discount code would it apply to ours?

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure this outage has nothing to do with the codes. Since Bank One and Chase merged Chase has been updating its online banking. For the past couple months Chase Online has been coming down over the weekends for updates. Most likely this outage is just another incarnation of that.

So I have decided that the codes need to come out before this weekend's outage

4forWDW - I think it's a little of both. Some people have existing reservations and are hoping they can get a lower rate at the same (or possibly different) resort with a code.

Other people (like me) don't even have a reservation yet (because I'm too cheap to pay rack or even AAA rates) and are hoping to score a good AP rate.

Lou7401 - Disney will not automatically give you the discount you have to call and ask for it specifically by the code (usually 3 letters). I'm not sure if you can do it online...I've never tried. There are only a limited number of rooms at each resort that can booked with the code - so timing is very important! (Thus all the freaking out about when the codes will be released!!)

Looks like I will not have to wait for the AP code to come out, got a call today from DVC and said that my waitlist for a studio anywhere for the week of Oct. 23-28th just came thru, looks like I will be OKW. Glad I can use my points and not have to pay cash, So tomorrow I will be cancelling my room at Pop Century.

CM told me Florida resident rates for 10/5 until 12/25 are out, but still no
AP rates. She was surprised b/c they are normally released together. She said to call back later today. She also said that the window for Best Rate has changed to only 60 days advance.

Good luck to everyone! My fingers are crossed for regular AP rates!

I brought up Best Rate, and he said that since it only starts 10/15, I'm out of luck there as well. We are going 10/7-10/17, and I can't catch a break. I hope the rates are out before 9/1, but I guess that beggers can't be choosers. I guess that would put us to next Thurs? I think I can hold out till then, but I'll still be watching these boards for "better" info!

I'm in the same boat with my ressie starting Oct 6. Can't use best rate, and no APs yet. How many of us are there in that 2 week space in Oct where there isn't anything. No code, no best guest.... lets pray for APs soon!

I'm Oct 14 - 17. I was told this morning by a travel agent that BRP window started Oct 25th. I'll have to go check that out.

Yep, I am in the same situation...we check in on October 15th. Glad they dropped the window to 60 days, but I still won't use Best Rate becasue of the non-refundable deposit. I don't see a need for that at all.

So, here we sit.....another day.....sigh
