We found Homebase was reasonable and had a good selection in all price ranges - plus our local store is running a 20% off everything at the moment, maybe your's is too??
We always used to have a realy one until two years ago when the needles took three days - yep, three whole days - to completely shed We spent a fortune on another tree and, after finding those darned needles in the carpet for months afterwards decided that's it, it's a pretendy one for the lounge.
However, we do have a real one in a pot in the dining room and various decorated trees in the gardens
Since we'll be away this year, only going to decorate the pretendy one and one out front, but my faithful teensy pre-decorated tree is coming skiing with us
My tree is also looking distinctly passed it's best and I'd wondered where to go for a visit so thanks for the tips - I think a trip to Homebase is on the cards!
Had and look in Homebase yesterday and they had a good choice but the ones we liked were very expensive!
So, we nipped into Makro on the way home and got a very similar tree to the one we liked in Homebase for £29.99 plus VAT (the home base one was nearly £90!!!)
Tim - try Woolworths. They had some lovely ones last year. We bought ours from Woolworths about 10 years ago and it still looks as good as the day we got in.

Edited to add: That will teach me to read properly - see you have already bought one!
We got a new one last year too, and it's prelighted. DH likes that part the best. He even suggested that we leave the ornaments on, throw a plastic bag over it, and stick it in the basement. Pull it out after Thanksgiving and TADA!!!!
