I saw a pic of this on the food porn thread. Anybody know when this changed and how it is?

It's actually caramel on top :goodvibes I had one (or two ;) ) a couple of weeks ago and they were really good! I've never had the original version, so I can't compare the 2.

When did it change? I just had it on the 3rd and it was the original...no chocolate or caramel to be seen.

I saw pictures of this - is it like a muffin/cupcake? Or is it actual bread? Or ??

it's more like a plain donut "roll", with a vanilla custard inside, and (now) a caramel icing atop with toasted coconut

i love love love the vanilla custard inside! (never did care for the "donut" part)

Well, we are back and I am 100% definitely disappointed with the "new" school bread. It just wasn't as great as the other. While it was very, very good, it lacked the specialty of the old version. I hope they change this back. I noticed quite a few people talking about how tiny it is now. They DID lower the price as well, but still. Grr.

We also just got back and my 7 yr old DS is addicted to school bread. He first had the original verison in April. He liked the new version as well but he did comment on the change and that it was smaller.

I agree! We preferred the original too.

I didn't have the original, but we loved the new. It's now either $1.99 or $2 even, can't remember which!

I can't believe they changed SCHOOLBREAD.

I was in such a mood for schoolbread last month (and having moved away from Orlando a year ago, couldn't simply go drive 20 mins to Epcot), so I learned how to make it from scratch.

I was REALLY looking forward to having the "original" version next month.

Boo, seriously. Boo.

(I even talked it up so much to my partner about how BIG they are and how great the glaze/coconut on top is when Disney makes it compared to mine...)

And FYI-- its really not hard to make, but used to be such a tradition!
