I just read that Gregory Richie has been hired as head chef at Tchoup Chop. Richie is an awesome chef who has worked for Roy Yamaguchi's place on Sand Lake Rd. since its opening.

I loved Tchoup Chop before, and am even more excited to go there now. Some of the new proposed dishes, Crispy Kalua Chicken Egg Rolls, Wasabi Cured Lomi-Lomi Salmon Napoleon, Lemongrass Crusted Florida Gulf Shrimp with Udon Noodles in a Panang Curry Broth and Mongolian Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Sweet Onion Orange Confit and Stir Fried Lo Mein Noodles sound awesome. I just can't wait.:yay:

Sweet! That'll make my birthday dinner there even more exciting!

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2 I've never eaten there and am really excited to try it on our upcoming vacation!

If these changes are in place by upcoming trip in May, I might just have to plan a night there.

You are in luck Nerdboy. He is already there re-doing the menu as the new Chef de Cuisine!

YAY! I'm so excited to try new food. I'm gonna do both Emeril's this trip.

Please do a review of those restaurants when you get back. :) I love to read the restaurant reviews and there doesn't seem to be many of them on the board. :confused3 Emeril's restaruants are so expensive, that I want to make sure they are worth it, but I am planning on eating at Tchoup Chop and I'll definitely write reviews on it when I get back.

Sure thing! When are you going?

I would write a review on Tchoup Chop from my last trip, but I'm sure things will change alot with the addition of the new chef. I can tell you that I am familiar with Roy's here in Chicago, in Orlando and in Hawaii. He has some of the freshest seafood around. In Orlando, there is a grouper dish with asian spices like ginger and soy sauce that is heavenly. I hope this great cuisine transfers to make this place even better that it already is.

June 14 thru 19, when are you going? I've looked over the menus at both restaurants, Emeril's at City Walk appeals more to my hubby, but Tchoup Chop is more to my taste (I love Asian food!), but hubby said he'd let me chose which restaurant. :lovestruc

That is quite a coincidence, I also noticed that both of us are staying in PRP! Maybe we should see if we could meet somewhere. :thumbsup2 And how cool is it that you'll be celebrating your B-day in Universal!

Do you think June will ever get here??? I'm so excited!!! I think I'm more excited than my 14 yr old son!

OMG, so may Geminis here on this post. I'm June 16.

Make sure you tell Tchoup Chop it is your birthday. I'm sure they will do something special for you.

I can't wait to see what's actually on the new menu this Spring. I really hope they have more meat selections...neither me or DF are too hot on fish/seafood, but love the atmosphere!

i hope andy/ aka/ robbie and jewell will be able to meet up at the darkside.
that would be kewl!

Love to try Tchoup Chop but I am just a jeans and tshirt guy and don't know if they will allow that :confused3

You can wear a t-shirt and jeans. I've even worn shorts and sandals. ;)

The only thing is you can't wear a sleeveless tee. So a polo, t-shirt, jeans, etc. is fine.

They should. Maybe a nice shirt and jeans. Like a collard tee.

Thanks guys
I guess I will have to give them a try this year cause DW has been asking to go there so maybe surprise her and go this year :thumbsup2
