New checking account for Target Red Debit Card

I am going to Target on Saturday to see about getting a debit card for the 5% off gift cards. I would prefer to keep our vacation money seperate so wanted to open a new checking account tomorrow to do so. Anyone else do this? Would just a day old be too new to be accepted by Target? Does it have to be an established account?

You need to present them with a check that contains your name and account information on it. If you do, then you should be good to go.
