New Cat Cora Restaurant (replacing Spoodles)

I was really upset about this. Spoodles is my favorite restaurant, probably in the whole world. I had the best meal of my entire life there about 5 years ago. It was the first time I really tried something different and ever since I've been really into trying new foods. I never had a bad dining experience there and we'll really miss the breakfast too And I love the name. Still planning to name my future dog Spoodles.

I hope this new place is just as good or better.

We like Spoodles so we will have to have our final meal there in August. The pitcher of sangria is GREAT!

That being said, I also like to watch Cat on the Food Network and I am sure she will add some great ideas to the menu. It will be fun to try this spot, and I am sure it will be VERY busy right out of the gate.

Yep! Cat Cora (Iron Chef) will be opening a new restaurant at the BoardWalk Resort (replacing Spoodles) in the Fall of this year. "Kouzzina by Cat Cora" will have Mediterranean style cuisine.

It's not old news, but it's not brand new news. Word leaked out about 10 days ago and was confirmed earlier this week.

Boo hoo.... We will definitely miss it! We did Spoodles multiple times on our honeymoon 10 years ago and loved it. We keep saying we're going to do it with the kids, but haven't, yet. Our next trip isn't until November. I guess we won't get to!

I didn't even know who Cat Cora was before this thread. I don't have "fancy" cable, mine is run by 2 hamsters and a wheel and we really only have a handful of stations.
Just bummed that we won't be able to get back to FL before Spoodles closes, we really loved it!

Just an FYI here, heard last week at WDW that Spoodles is closing. Don't know his name, but one of the iron chef's is opening a restaurant there this next year.

I just read on All Ears that Cat Cora is opening up a new restaurant on the BoardWalk, scheduled to open in the Fall of 2009. It is supposed to replace Spoodles, according to what I read.

Any thoughts on this? It is supposed to be a Mediterranean theme. I think it sounds great! I am hoping this restaurant is on the DDP (Spoodles is, so it would be nice to have the new restaurant replace it on the DDP) but it is no big deal if it is not anyway because we would still try it (we are going over by 2 or 3 TS meals anyway on the next trip). So what does everyone else think of this?

We say her at lunch program F&W Festival two years ago. She was great. Although I like Spoodles, I am looking forward to trying this.

I wonder if they will be able to move quickly enough to have roll out tied to F&W this year? Fairly ambitious time frame, but who knows how much of the space and kitchen they are restructuring (and when they will start).

Spoodles isn't closed yet, but it is scheduled to be replaced by a restaurant run by Cat Cora of Iron Chef fame. We have ressies there in June, so it isn't closing for at least that long. It's been a hot topic, so you will find many other threads here with more details.
