New Cat Cora Restaurant (replacing Spoodles)

I thought it was closing as Spoodles, but will reopen:

"Cat Cora to open eatery to replace Spoodles restaurant at the Boardwalk Resort. The restaurant will be called Kouzzina by Cat Cora and will feature Mediterranean cuisine. Cora has been a featured chef at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and at Disney’s California Food & Wine Festival at Disneyland Resort."

I think Cat has also been on Iron Chef. This could be a fun and swanky new addition to the Disney line up.

That sounds great! Cat Cora is an Iron Chef (I Love that show!! ) so it would be an interesting restaurant to try!!

We are going to Disney in May. My daughter has food allergies and had to speak to one of the Chefs from Spoodles/Boardwalk. The way I understood is that Spoodles is closing down sometime in May for remodeling and their will be breakfast options from Spoodles availalbe at the Boardwalk bakery. I guess maybe remodeling for the new restaurant.

Yes. Spoodles will close some time later this summer and open as a Cat Cora restaurant.

Orlando Sentinel last week leaked the info that Iron Chef Cat Cora was working with Walt Disney World on a new signature restaurant concept. Today, the story was confirmed. The new eatery, to be named Kouzzina (Greek for "kitchen"), is scheduled to open by fall 2009 in the space currently occupied by Spoodles on Disney's Boardwalk. The restaurant, which will feature Mediterranean cuisine and Chef Cora's philosophy to create simple yet sensational meals, will be owned and operated by Disney. The first and only female Iron Chef on Food Network's "Iron Chef America," Cora is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, and is Executive Chef for Bon Appetit magazine. Cora has worked with Disney to create a Disney Video on Demand series on healthy eating habits, and has been a featured chef at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and at Disney's California Food & Wine Festival at Disneyland Resort

I agree it has been a staple for us on our first night and last night since becoming DVC members in 2000. Love the Sangria and Rigatoni. Looks like we have to check out the new venue.

Not yet. I called Disney Dining this morning to see if there was an official closing date for Spoodles and the CM said she didn't know yet.

I hope one of them is open during our late Sept trip didnt get to try Spoodles but I wouldnt mind trying Cats place too. I dont know tho I get the feeling the restaurant will be closed then tho to open more around the holiday season. Also I have doubts it will be on the dining plan also.. Which is what we will be on. Anyone else have these thoughts? HMM???

We will be at BCV Sept 19-23 and I am hoping and praying that this restaurant will be open by then!

I doubt it...just my luck!
