New Cat Cora Restaurant (replacing Spoodles)

I am super excited to hear of this change. While I would love to think that Cat will be there often enough that we could actually be there to experience her actual creations, I do know that she and her partner are both pregnant right now and are set to deliver 3 months apart, the partner in April and Cat in July, and they have a 5 year old and an almost 2 year old son already. That is going to be one busy woman when you add in her other commitments to Bon Appetite magazine and the Food Network. Regardless, this news is almost good enough news to get us to book a trip in October, 2009....again, if the restaurant is going to be open by then.

We liked Spoodles when we ate there in 06, but haven't been back since they changed the menu shortly thereafter. We'll definitely give the new place a try.

I'm also very happy about this! We ate at Spoodle's twice, and did not have good experiences with both the food and the service.

This is cool news but what does this mean for my June 6th ressie that I have or my mom's June 17th ressie....when we just called to make them we made them for Spoodles as we have never eaten there and the CM said nothing about this

From NY and I kind of like the pizza window at Spoodles. It's not the best pizza in the world but it ranks up there as better pizza in Disneyworld. I bet they keep it.

Cat is having a baby in July. And her wife is having one in April I think? So she'll have 2 new babies and a new restaurant to run. I wish her luck. And I am anxious to try it. Spoodles to us was eh. It had good calamari but the rest of the meal was forgetable to us. But my GLOWTINI was yummy!

Spoodles is rumored to be closing on 9/30/09. The new restaurant is scheduled to open in the fall of 2009. I think you should be fine.

From what I have read, the restaurant is going to be Disney owned and operated. Cat Cora is only supplying the concept and the menu offerings.

Spoodles is a Mediterranean restaurant, so I don't think it will be a huge change. Whether or not they keep the pizza window open, I have no idea. I'm one of the people that couldn't stand their pizza but enjoyed my dinners in the restaurant.

And by the way, why are you so nervous about Mediterranean food? Spoodles is a Mediterannean restaurant already, they're just freshening up the concept (and adding a celebrity chef).

Greek food is lovely. Give me a souvlaki with roasted lemon potatoes topped with garlic/dill yogurt any day of the week!
There are pizza places all over the place. I like to have variety. If you want some pizza near the BW try Il Mulino (spelling) at the Swan.

I'm surprised they're not giving her a restaurant in former Pleasure Island and instead getting rid of Spoodles. I like Spoodles. Bummer. Oh well. If it's Greek, I'm kind of excited because we had a good Greek restaurant here that closed!

So, if I'm reading right, this won't happen until Fall, right? We have reservations at Spoodles for our June trip, and I have been so looking forward to going there, and they said nothing when we made our reservations. And with our luck, we will absolutely love it and then it will close. So if you know when it will close/change over, please let us know. Thanks.
