Hi! Could one of the locals here tell me why the new HM ghost pins are going for so much on ebay? Are they limited edition? It just didn't make sense to me.

(that said, I know the ghosts go for a premium...but being in the midwest, it's the only way for us to get the lanyard pins until our next trip...

thanks so much! :flower:
Robin

I don't know the answer to that, but have you checked out how much the Disney Dollar pins are going for, also? Wow!

WOWZA!!! No I hadn't seen that...my gosh...there are tons rolling in now, keep your eyes peeled and you may get a deal...

geesh...I live in the wrong state!!

:)

I haven't seen these pins - if you could reference these for me I can look into it for you when I get a chance - I get a day off next Monday (I usually work 7 days a week).

Doombuggy - I believe he's referring to the HM lanyard pins of Ezra, Phinneas & Gus.

Robin, HM pins appeal to a wide audience. There are people who don't necessarily collect pins but collect HM merchandise and if it turns out to be pins, so be it.

Which pins haven't you seen doombuggy? The Disney Dollar pins look like disney dollars and are cast lanyard pins...the hitchiking ghosts are 3 separate pins, 1 of each of the ghosts...I'll go to pinpics and link you up for either if you'd like...

Cyn, it makes sense, but these seem to be particularly sought after, and I thought maybe there was a reason...but thanks! :flower:

I did it anyway...here is one of the disney dollars...

Mickey Disney Dollar

and here is Ezra ghost, one of the 3 hitchhiker pins...

Ezra

The new "Hidden Mickey" thing gets me...those are no more hidden than the ghosts themselves...what's up with that?

anyway...there they are...

:):) Robin

Hi Robin,

From what I've read, the Hidden Mickeys aren't there to be "hidden" in the classic sense. They are there so that a person trading with a CM (or anyone else) can spot at a glance that it is a Cast Lanyard Pin.

Hope that helps.

LOL...ok, that makes much more sense!! See....you guys on the dis...always have the answers!

Thank you CarnotaurDad! :)

I see the September event has been listed for awhile but does anyone know if others will be announced before the end of the year?

Hockey Mom,
If they follow prior years, they will have one in the November/December time frame in MGM and linked to the Spectacle of Lights. Look for an announcement for this at the September event.

Thanks daber. I am a total idiot. I read this topic and then thought I started a new thread to ask this question about events, but I must have hit reply instead of "New thread". :confused3 :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok, I haven't gotten any new pins on my lanyard lately, which is why the HM pins were not familar to me. I last CM lanyard pins I got were the parking sign ones. Sorry...

The parking lot pins are becoming more common.
I am not the lanyard searcher diehard I was as a non-resident. (I know how it is. You have to get what you can to trade for your non-park months. :rotfl: )
I usually get the lanyard pins once they are readily available most anywhere! :rotfl:
I have had a few good expereinces with CMs going above and beyond and I got a few Tiki and and Ezra.
I went to PTN a few weeks ago just to meet a friend. I always find PTN dismaying as you see others with baggies full of the same lanyard pins. It's no wonder certain pins are not that common in the parks until they are not so highly sought after.
If I see a lanyard or a good pin I already have, I leave it.

Thank you all....

Exactly Love2Roam...it's terrible being up here, especially after living right near DL for so long, and being able to get whatever...(though that was before the whole lanyard trade thing...still...I have lots of old pins...)

anyway, yes, the tiki's too were hard...I'm still trying to find #1...I don't get it sometimes...and I think it's crappy to hoard...but it's America...you have every right to make a buck if you can.... :sad2:

I guess I'll just keep watching...I refuse to pay $30. for a traded pin...(ezra)...so I'm just crossing my fingers...

Have a safe and happy 4th everyone! :flower:
