New cars / VAT question

I'm about to buy a replacement car, and am looking at a brand new vehicle for the first time (DH and I have only ever had second-hand before now). Venturing into the realms of the unknown and it's all a bit daunting!

A friend said he'd heard something in the pipeline about a change regarding new cars and VAT - but he couldn't remember what he'd heard . I can't find anything about this, but I know that if there's anything to know, someone on the DIS will know! .

Any clues?

Have asked round our salesmen and they know nothing about vat changes for new cars.

What they are all saying is there is horrendous changes in company car tax on new vehicles.

Don't know if this applies to you or not.
