Is it good to wax a new car?

Preferrably for someone else to do it, or just buy a new one, but you are supposed to wait.

The car guide to my new car states not to wax the car within the first year, unless it must be done and never within the first 6 months. It also recommends to never use an automatic wash.

DH says yes you need to wait--anywhere from 6 months to a year depending on the color of the car, temperatures and humidity it is exposed to (so e safe and go with the year he says). It is so the paint can properly outgas. And no I have no idea what he is talking about

I just got a new car about a month ago, and I've had it detailed a few times, where the detailer put sealant on my car afterwards. I've actually never heard of doing this before...

New cars can be waxed immediately, and they should be to begin a regimen of proper paint care. The paint is fully cured when it leaves the factory.

If a car is repainted you need to wait because it can't be "baked" to cure the paint like the factory can.
