New car tires

The advantage of nitrogen is another dealer mark up they can sell you
In this case it is free. No harm, but I would not pay for it. The Michelin Dealer here has never offered nitrogen inflation.
And flashing back to your High School Chemistry class, the air we breath is 78% nitrogen. So if you use plain old air in your tires, you have 78% nitrogen in them, or you can get 100% nitrogen.

Well, it’s getting to be that time. My 2020 Santa Fe will be needing new tires soon. Any certain brands that are better or that you prefer? Would you get tires from Sam’s Club?
If you are looking to buy new tires for your vehicle one tire place to avoid is America's Tire because when my parents were buying new tires for our family van my parents bought some from America's Tire and my parents thought they were good tires until we were at the supermarket and we were putting groceries in our van trunk when I heard a hissing sound coming from the tires and at first Dad thought I was making up a story but I told him to listen and it turned out our new tires were leaking and going flat and we drove back to America's Tire and we returned the tires and we got Kelly Tires instead and Kelly Tires are great tires and last a long time. My parents used to buy our tires from Sears but now we go to a tire shop
Hope this advice helps Disneychick0412

Sounds more like an installation issue where the tire was not properly seated on the rims, especially if this happened shortly after you purchased them. Doubt that makes all America's Tire places bad.

We put Michelin defenders on all our cars. We used to buy our tires from Costco, but it got to be such a pain if you needed a tire repair, we have switched to discount tire.

Our discount tire does a great job. They will also price match, so if Costco is running a sale, you get the same price at discount tire.

I have an older can that needs new tires and am also wondering what low price brands people like best. I too am more interested in the brands and lines than the place to get them.

I have always bought high end but this is a vehicle I use infrequently & will probably not keep long so the investment of $800 doesn't fit.

I asked on Nextdoor and got recommendations for used tires and now I am undecided between used or new cheap, there is a brand popping up Forceum Octa but I have zero experience, its tough to know what is the best choice.

I'm surprised no one has already mentioned this...

An important thing to check is the tires date code. Tires do have a shelf life as well as a wear life. Ask the shop to confirm the tires manufacturer date code. Some places that don't sell many tend to sit on that inventory. Others that have sales, have them for a reason, and often its because the tire is getting old. Many tires have a life of about 5 years +/-. If you're buying a new tire that's already a year or two old, you're compromising the safety and integrity of the tire. Tire and wheels as well as brakes shouldn't be skimped on and taking the cheap way out. Find a reputable shop that does a lot of tire replacement and sales. they're the ones that will have the experience to properly dismount and mount NEW/FRESH tires.
