I talked to a guest services cm on the phone today because I was frustrated about the current reservation system. After calling every other morning for two months, I still can not get a full hook up for my Dec '08 trip. Sometime the CRO will say they are all booked and sometimes they say there are none available. Today I guess I kind of snapped a little and asked to talk to someone higher up about this problem. :rolleyes1

When I did talk to the GS CM he told me that Disney is in the process of adding a new classification of campsites. There will be partial, full, preferred and premium(which will be wider). He was unable to find out exactly when these new campsites would be offered. He made a couple of calls for me but no one could tell him. He also explained that the CSO people see a different computer screen then the GS people do. The CSO can tell you if the sites are available or not available...not if they are actually "booked". Unfortunately he said that I still need to keep calling to get my ressies changed from partial to full. It stinks that there isn't a better way to do this !!

Anyway, I wanted to confirm what someone else posted a few weeks back about the new campsites.

I wonder if some of the clearing out they are doing will be to accomodate new, wider sites :confused3

I guess it depends on what was cleared out - was it just underbrush that was low on the ground or was it also smaller trees and bushes? If it wasn't just for fire protection as we were thinking then I guess you could be right. Maybe a suit thought about it for a minute and decided this would be the quickest, cheapest route to get the results they wanted. I wish they would have a forum or group made up of the people who keep coming back to resorts to get an idea of what the people who are paying so much on their vacation want. When you check in or check out they can ask you if you'd like to be on an e-mail list to receive surveys about stuff like this.

This could be an added after-effect of having to clear out all the trees from the hurricanes. Perhaps they just realized that by clearing them out, they now will have some sites that are "wider" than others. Hopefully they're not just cutting down trees to make sites wider, I would rather see them expand first.

He definitely indicated that they were changing some sites over...not expanding the actual campground.

Over the weekend I noticed that the 1600 and 1700 loop has been repaved, but it did not look any wider. Nothing has been done to any of the other loops (road wise) that I can remember. I wonder if the premium sites will also include internet access?

Who cares if it includes:
