I'm looking for a new camera for our upcoming trip. I will have two young kids in tow, so am looking for something simple to use - ie. I want a point and shoot type digital. I would also like something with a good zoom, takes good action shots and good night shots. Smaller size would also be an asset, although it doesn' have to be super small. Any recommendations would be appreciated! TIA!

I tried out a lot of point and shoots before I found one to carry in my gear bag, and liked the Panasonic for its ease of use and the quality of the photos it takes.

I have the Panasonic Tz5. It's small, easy to use, takes good night shots, great action shots, and has a nice sharp lens (at times too sharp) for photos. It also has a built in motorized lens cap, so you won't have to worry about scratching your lens. :)

dpreview has great information on cameras. although i would suggest if you want to take memorable cameras to have a look at entry level DSLR :)
