New BLT rooms definitely not "70's cheesy"

Sorry. Had to do it.

Have you ever seen the rooms in person? They are sleek and soothing...there is nothing in them at all that would make you dizzy, or get a migraine. Unlike you, I DO understand the craze over ALL the resorts. They all offer something different and unique. I also suspect that the "craze" over BLT has everything to do with proximity to MK and the love that many have for the CR (when there were only 2 onsite resorts to choose from).....over 30yrs. of memories for us. :thumbsup2

Unlike you I didn't say I don't get the craze about the other resorts I said I don't get it about BLT and I still don't, my opinion which apparently I am not entitiled. I think BLT is hiddeious and that is my opinion sorry if it upsets your apple cart that someone doesn't drool over BLT but hey that is life.
I Would take points at AKV over BLT any day.

Is there some point to this entire thread??? Like previously noted, folks on both sides are really beating a dead horse. If you don't like BLT fine. If you do like BLT fine.

I tell you what I don't like, it's the word "cheesy". I never have liked this word. I'm not sure what it means. But I do know it's not a word, I'd ever use. Now let's hear from the folks who love the word "cheesy".

The point of this thread is that we saw the rooms and they were very appealing. Is that any less of a point than most other threads????

Again, the "cheesy" comment was TONGUE AND CHEEK in response to a similar thread stating the rooms were 70's CHEESY. My gosh! Is it just "beating the dead horse" when someone actually LIKES the BLT rooms?

Sammie I do agree that the studios seem small but the layout is very appealing. I also think the studios at AKV are small. My parents stayed in one of those. As a family of 5, we will never have the option to stay in a studio which is why I've commented on the 1 bedrooms. I really don't know their size compared to AKV's studios. As I said, the layout is nice in person though. If 4 were in the room, I think it's great for 2 adults and two smallish kids. 4 adults? I don't think it would be comfortable.

Everyone has their right to their opinion. The problem comes when people somehow feel personally confronted. Obviously, some felt that way about your thread (or maybe in the title "you are so wrong!") and you felt that way about their reply's.

I didn't take it personally, and hope my post was not personal to you. I think everyone needs to do their best to simply say what they think and leave out the words that make it personal. Agree to disagree. Or agree to share differences in what we like.

Anyway... MY horsebeating smilie is so "cheesier" than your's vandy

DisDaydreamer Never took your posts personally...even quoted you!:thumbsup2

And to clear it up AGAIN...:) :) I never said people who didn't like BLT were wrong at all......only stated that it's not "70's cheesy" as was already stated in this forum! :thumbsup2

My family is very happy with our 2 resorts (VWL and BCV). We personally don't like the Contemporary at all and will never stay there but to each their own. I do not want to pick on another op because they happen to like the Contemporary. Who cares. Everyone stay where you like, buy where you want to stay and have great vacations!!!!:)

I'm thinking of joining the DVC and waiting impatiently for materials to arrive in the mail about Bay Lake Tower... can anyone tell me where to see the interior pictures while I am waiting?

Also, where are the models located? Sarasota Springs?

Thank you!

the models are at SSR

if you are member - just do to the
www.dvcmember.com site

it has the information on BLT - most of it is the artist rendering.

Woody, I like the decor too and am really looking forward to seeing it in person. All WDW rooms appear (even) better in person I've found.

The studio does appear small but someone posted that their guide said the model was not sized correctly??? Has anyone heard more about that?

I agree with Pat....5 years from now it will be interesting to see the demand at BLT. :goodvibes

Someone posted that BCV was panned which is so true. Yet, it sure is hard to book. So don't worry about what anyone posts. You have a new DVC home that you love...that's the good news. The bad news is that you'll need to book using that 11 month window.;)

I gotta admit I really like your horse beating Rob! I'm going to save that one for my kinder, gentler moments of expressing frustration!:rotfl: It might be better accepted! Thanks, and no offense taken that your's is better!!!

Back onto topic though, I like the variety DVC offers. From what I have seen, the decor of BLT does not trip my trigger. Would I stay there? Sure! Staying at different DVC resorts is what makes being a member fun, exciting and different. I would want to try it a couple of times. I just have no interest in buying there right now. Maybe that will change with time as ourselves and our family change. I think these are the sentiments of many people here and no one should take any real offense at comments and those comments should be stated in an appropriate manner.

Actually, Woody I'm on your side on this. My remarks were more aimed at the folks who keep posting, post after post how much they hate BLT. And the beating a dead horse was targeted towards them. I was talking about the direction your thread had taken rather than your starting the thread. Sorry if you took it that way. I like what I see of BLT and hope to stay there in the future. I don't see that we could ever buy points there though (unless we sold one of our existing contracts).

I have to admit we weren't all that impressed with the pictures we saw online, but decided to take the tour of the models last weekend when we were down there. Both DD's really liked the studio layout (with the kitchenette placed in the alcove with the bathroom sink), and thought the decision to make the balcony bigger -- even at the expense of some room size -- worked. They especially liked the eating area in the 1-BR portion: said the table would be perfect for working jigsaw puzzles! As young as they are, they liked the decor, especially the modernistic pictures of Space Mountain.

As you can see from the sig, DW and I added on. What's a parent to do? ;) :thumbsup2

Congrats on your add-on! You remind me of us with your DVC resort ownerships. I told DH that we are resort chameleons! I'm really happy at any resort! We immerse ourselves in the place we're in!!! ;) I also can see many gatherings at that 1 BR eating table.....overlooking that awesome view!!!:thumbsup2

I loved this post so much I just had to resurrect this thread. :rotfl2:

Thanks for posting that pic and comment again, Bob. Agreed!!!!! FWIW... on our recent trip, the kids were literally jumping up and down on the monorail when we told them "we'll be staying there soon". My gosh, even THEY can appreciate that SHORT distance to the MK!
