New BLT Owner

Hello!

As you can tell by my post count, I'm an extreme lurker here on the DIS. But I just had to pop out and let you know that during my recent trip to WDW in September, I took the tour and bought in at BLT at 200 points. I'm a single lady, but will have no problems in finding family and friends to join me for many years to come at the happiest place on earth!

Before heading down in September, I did lots of lurking here on the DVC boards (operations, mousecellaneous, etc) and learned a ton. This helped me to be a much more informed buyer.

Now it's cool to know that I'm part of a whole new family of DIS'ers, willing and wanting to share experiences and information, just for the asking! I hope to be able to contribute answers, as I go through the process of ownership, too.

It's good to have a new "home" here on the DIS! Thanks for all your help.

I too am single and have purchased at BLT. I'm going with family and friends too. I may stay over a couple of days by myself to stay in and explore different resorts and try different restraunts. Last Year we were at the contemporary and I did some exploring by myself (because my family had slept in after EMH til 3AM) That's how I found DVC and I talked them into going on the tour with me. I had a blast by myself.

That's what I kinda did in September (last month). I invited my sister (who hadn't been to WDW since we went as a family and as kids in 1976) and we spent 10 glorious days together.

On the day she left, I took my DVC tour. I spent 5 days at WDW solo after she left and had a great time just going back and doing the things we hadn't done or she wasn't interested in doing (she didn't do any extreme rides). It was fun while she was there, but it was also fun being solo. I'm sure I'll continue to travel to WDW like this...trips partly with people and partly solo. I've been single for so long that doing things solo seems natural and is just as much fun. BTW - I signed my BLT contract 3 days after she left.

Plans are already in the works to take my brother with me next fall (he's my sister's twin and hasn't been to WDW since 1976, either). Indee, it may be years before I have a fully solo trip to WDW. And I'm okay with that!
