Sometimes you may travel thousands of miles to escape and explore a new far-flung destination different to your norm. But visiting Orlando can at times feel like it’s a small world after all, particularly when taking a leisurely stroll around the World Showcase at Epcot. Can you really visit the UK in the baking sunshine of Florida? Let’s delve into this question and explore one of the spots in Orlando where you could feel like you were in the UK.

I get the idea but the LAST thing I want to do on vacation is feel like I'm at home! :lmao: I just spent thousands trying to escape this place.

I agree, we tend to just bypass the UK pavilion completely, or have a quick laugh at the huge line to buy fish and chips.

The only way I'd actually visit, is if somehow they managed to perfect a decent cup of tea, that's the only thing I miss when I'm away. Especially as most of the coffee tastes dreadful!

It was our first visit in October. With us living in France (we're British) we don't get to eat fish and chips, so I was looking forward to having some at Epcot. It was lovely sitting on the curb to eat them as if we were in England. :)

I get people not wanting to spend thousands to feel like they're back home because I didn't really visit France while we were there. I didn't avoid it on purpose, it was just not a top priority when there was so much for us to see and do with it being our first visit.

The times my family has been to EPCOT we always end up here in the evening and park for a good long while til illuminations finishes. As far as how do you represent a huge and diverse country in such a tiny patch of land. Epcot does well it's charming and un-offensive <that's the opinion of me a scotsman who tends to bemoan British representation as just English.

Now who's hoping the millennium pavilion gets turned into some sort of doctor who attraction?

Our family joke regarding the British area of Epcot.....the Twinnings Twee shop!!
We regard the pavilions in Epcot as being more caracitures than proper representations :goodvibes

Our last visit in August, DD bought loads of Dr Who items, that we have not seen here in U.K.
