Hi,

We bought a BCV resale 150 points Aug UY.
$88 a point seller paid all closing, passed Disney ROFR, we now have the contract and I am mailing in the check to close.

I have some questions on the points we have avail for 2007 and when/how to bank.

Here is what we will have when we close.

2007 BCV
62 banked points (expire 7/31/08 from UY Aug 2006)
17 points remaining if UY Aug 2007
___

79 points total

2008 BVC 150 points Aug.

I was planning a trip to BCV in early 2008 (Feb.)
So my question is when we close sometime in Aug 07 I just call MS and try and book for Feb., which might be hard this late. And I can use all 2006, 2007, and future 2008 points.

Or if nothing is Avail,. in Feb and I want to go later in 2008, Do I just bank the 17 2007 points that are avail.? I don't have to worry about the 62 2006 banked points, they are fine and can be used until 7/31/08?

Just want to make sure I don't lose any points and bank what I need to and use what I need to in 2008.

Thanks,
Steve

First off - CONGRATS and :welcome: home!

I think the easiest thing to answer your questions is to start with the banking rules. There are "windows" of banking where DVC limits the % of points that you can bank based on how soon they expire. In a nutshell, you can bank

100% of your points within the first 6 months of the UY (so in your case Aug 1 - Jan 31)
50% of your points between 6 - 9 months (Feb 1 - March 31)
25% of your points between 9 & 10 months (April 1 - May 31)

The percentages are cumulative and based on the total points in your contract (150). So at the 100% you could bank 75 points, but then if you let it go until March - you couldn't bank any more since you already had booked 50%.

Those 17 points from 2007 UY that are left can be banked up until the May 31 date for 2008.

So, as long as your trip is before the expiration of those 2006 points, you won't need to bank the 2007 points.

I hope that makes sense and is a help.
