New bar menu on Dream

It was $35 when we were on Magic in May. Because we reserved well in advance before they raised the price, the waiter said they were only charging us $30.

The price actually increased from $25 to $30 in April. We were on the Wonder in May and were charged the old $25 price because we booked before the increase.

Disneycruiselineblog confirms this.

I think maybe they overcharged you after all ;-)

Not sure about Remy but Palo is definitely $30 - price increased at the beginning of this year.

Thanks, I haven't been able to log in the website for the last 2-3 days so I could not check that info.

But I confirm the price increased for Remy (it was 75$ when we went in April):

Remy Dinner
$85.00
per adult

Not really sure what everyone is complaining about- Its not like you have to go and buy them- they are just an added option for those that may like to do something different, an option that did not exist before hand... If you want free food then go grab it somewhere else. If you want to try the bar food then go for it. I am thankful to have some other options onboard if the mood strikes and its not going to make or break my Disney experience because I had to pay 8$ for chips and salsa..... maybe the upside to this it will cause the complainers to stay home! lol :thanks::thanks::thanks:

As much as the other changes have bugged me, this one still doesn't unless they remove all the free offerings. Since this is a sports bar, I kind of see it as more of shared appetizers while watching a game, etc. You are paying for the convenience of having someone plate it and bring it to you. And being able to order it whenever you want (as opposed to the times when they put out the free snacks - those are only there at limited times, right?).

If people don't want to pay, they can still stop by and grab some pizza or something on the way there. I guess, unless we find out they remove all the free offerings, I'm still seeing this as an add-on, instead of a replacement.

That's what the issue seems to be.

I'll just note here, on our recent Wonder cruise, the "late night snacks" that were scheduled in Diversions at 11:00 pm were actually there by 7:30. But no Pub Grub menu. I wonder if they will do the "free" buffet snacks earlier now, with the bar menu being a late night offering.

Isn't that the point? That it WAS an option that existed (in some form) before? I thought I read someone say that they used to have a snack buffet of bar food in that area that was free. Now they don't. That's not something to complain about? Or am I confused? I haven't cruised before.

As far as we know, the free options are still there. They are usually only offered at limited times though (late evening, etc). I think the new options allow for any time ordering of snacks while watching games, etc.

Now if they do remove the free options completely...that is a different story ;)

Every report I have read says the free offerings that are put out late evenings are STILL AVAILABLE, just as the soft serve is still available alongside Venelope's "pay for" option. This is simply an add on menu for those that CHOOSE to order/pay for a specific item that is not on a grazing station or during off hours when the free offerings are not available.

There are so many people who have been claiming that other cruise lines nickel and dime for doing this EXACT same thing. I actually don't like soft serve, so it would be nice for me to have some real ice cream. (Is Vanellope's real ice cream?) DCL is just trying to give more options. The ice cream pricing isn't awful, I guess, but I think those bar snacks are ridiculous. Especially when NCL has bar snacks in O'Sheehans for free all night - and they are way better than the free stuff on DCL.

Yep, it's "nickel and dime"on other cruise lines but on DCL it's providing cruisers with "pay for options"! Strange how the perspective changes when it's your preferred cruise line making the changes.

But what about the hard scooped ice cream available in the buffet? I'd be interested to know if on the Dream, it was still available.....loved this on the Fantasy - interesting flavours in addition to the "regular" ones.

And I think that these prices for "add ons" is out of hand. It's not a land based restaurant.

Considering that Palo brunch or dinner is $30 and includes at least 3 courses, charging $18 just for tempura shrimps seems high.

Because this is a trend, soon EVERYTHING will have a charge like room service!

Considering that Palo brunch was only 15$ a few years ago, it puts it into an even different perspective...

There is still plenty of "free" food available. Nobody is being forced to buy bar food.

So you are defending a policy that USED to be free food. So.... Disneys prices arent high enough for you, its fine for them to start adding fees for CERTAIN food?

When will they star charging for room service, or more likely really reducing the menu to basically nothing.
