MY wife and I are expecting our second child this December. My question is that I would like to get her something special. Any recommendations? Please let me know, feel free to PM me! Thanks All, Al

Congratulations Al!!! How wonderful!! All the best to your family!! :D

Jewelry is always nice :)

Congratulations!

I would ask her best friend, she's bound to have a good idea what would really make your wife happy. I don't have kids, but I would think anything that makes her life easier with two kids would be much appreciated.

My ex once asked my best friend what I had been looking at at the mall. Well it was a belt that I never even told him about and he gave it to me for my birthday. I'll always remember it b/c he took the time to find out what I really wanted.

Congrats on the new addition!

Congrats!!!!!! I am due in February. For my first son, my husband go me a mother and child pendant, but he wanted to get a little bit of a different one and found one that had mother, father and child. I love it.

my dh surprised me with a mothers ring after I had the twins this year. has our childrens birthstones in it...in our case, 2 aquamarine and one amethyst. It is so pretty! the jewler he went to had a book of different designs you could choose one. He chose one that couldn't be added to. LOL! you can also add you and your wifes stones in, either way looks nice.

or you could get her a necklace, or earings, or whatever, with the new baby's birthstone.

good luck and let us know what you decide on! very sweet of you :)

My DH bought me a string of Mikimoto pearls when my son was born. :p

I just had our 5th child in July. I would have enjoyed a pampering day away at a spa. Although if your wife is nursing, that may be difficult. So maybe this could be broken up into different days. A massage one day, pedicure another, facial another...Another thing I would have loved, someone to bring in meals and/or clean the house. Really anything to pamper her and make her life easier is the way to go.

What a good husband and dad! I suggest jewelry too. My friends and I refer to those new baby jewelry gifts as "baby baubles". DH gave me diamond earrings when our son was born. If you need help, I agree with asking one of her friends for advice.

ckmommy posted what I was going to say: spa day or merry maids...or even better, both...send her to the spa for a day, and have merry maids come in while she's out...she comes home relaxed to a clean house...I can't think of anything better!

I would agree with the spa and/or cleaning service (Merry Maids). Jewelry is nice but I would rather have a day to be pampered and some help around the house.

I would go with a Mother's ring, if you know this will be your lasst. Otherwise, is there anything that she has been wanting for a long time?

I think just that you are thinking ahead to do something nice is Wonderful.
I would say a Mother's Ring would be very sweet.

I got jewelry for both my girls :) I picked it out with DH beforehand so I could choose hat I wanted. I love blue topaz; I had a ring, earrings and pendant. For DD1 I chose the matching bracelet. For DD2, I got a beautiful mother and child cameo. I'd always wanted a cameo :)

Any of the other gifts would be great too ::yes:: I had a friend who liked jewelry with the baby's birthstone. Her DD2 was due in late April but ended up being born in May, so her DH had to take the necklace back and swap the diamond for an emerald!

A Nanny :p

I agree with the Mother's ring/or birthstone jewelry of some sort with baby's stone on it.

I would go with a mothers ring or pendant also. Be sure to include everyone's birthstones...she'll love it! I have a pin with ours. DH and DS's birthstones are the same...diamond. Mine is amethyst. Looks beautiful and so meaningful! :)

Congratulations!!Everyone is giving you some wonderful ideas!! My DD daughter just turned 13 months and she is also our second child.

I know that for myself I would have loved if my DH had gotten our house professionally cleaned before I came home from the hospital. I don't care who does it, it could have been him..lol.
I know its a bit unconventional as a gift but I remember coming home to such chaos. I hate a mess in my home and I ended up trying to do a bit too much too soon.

I would have loved to walk into a clean, organized home. I don't know but thats just me and I would have loved it.

My mom planted a tree in our yard for both of my kids as a birth present.:)

Good luck to you and your dw.:)

Congratulations! :) Such good news.

We planted trees in our yard too upon our children's arrival.

You have some great suggestions. Your heart is in the right place.
So I'm sure anything you do will be appreciated.

I had a massage and it was wonderful. A facial is very nice too. One of the things that helped so much is gift certificates to restaurants nearby. We used the restaurants that had the curbside to go service or pick up in general. When you are busy with a newborn, it takes awhile to get your new schedule set. Meals can sometimes take a back seat to sleeping and helping the baby.

The two restaurants we used the most were Olive Garden and Outback Steakhouse.
